Be joyful, no matter what! We know that struggles, unexpected challenges, anddifficult circumstances will come in the year ahead. Jesus said, ... “In this world youwill have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world (John 16:33 NIV).”How do we stay positive and full of faith when trials come our way? Put your hopein the Lord. Be full of joy always because you belong to the Lord. Again I say, be full of joy! Phil 4:4 NLTThroughout the year, I have been able to connect with pastors, church planters, boards, staff members, regional directors, national partners, and countless otherswho have genuinely worked to advance the Kingdom. Thank you for answering thecall and making a difference! 2023 was a year of many blessings for the ministriesof Pacific Church Network as we worked together to:ESTABLISH - new churches and revitalizing existing churchesEQUIP - churches and church plantersENCOURAGE - pastors and leadersWe are off and running in 2024 and are excited to welcome CB Global under thewings of PCN. Joy to ServeIt is a joy to serve our network as we work together to establish, encourage, and equipchurches in order that each might reach their world for Jesus. We are 70 churches strongand growing! Thanks to all the Pastors, Staff, Elders, Leaders, and Volunteers who workdiligently and sacrificially to expand the kingdom of God! National and Global PartnershipI had the opportunity to meet with pastors and regional leaders that make up our nationalnetwork of churches called Venture Church Network. We value being part of a nationalnetwork with like-minded churches that are Gospel-driven, Biblically focused, Disciple-making, and Relationally committed. Our connection with CB Global has deepened, as ourboard has voted to accept their desire to be a part of our ministry. CB Global has nowbecome a ministry of Pacific Church Network as we help many national associations reachtheir world for Christ.Churches and Church PlantingThis past year, we welcomed two new pastors to our network, Lucas Parks at Calvary Baptistin Huntington Beach, and Benjamin Overby at Bethany Church in Long Beach. Wewelcomed three new church plants into our network: Gospel Life on the island of Guam,Passion Church in Palm Springs, and Divine House of Deliverance in Dallas, TX. We areexcited about our church planting efforts. JD Pearring, our Church Planting Director, hasmore church plant opportunities available for us as more funds become available. We arestriving to raise more money for church planting. We also welcomed three churches into thenetwork: Mission Hills Church in Mission Viejo, a long-time former member that rejoined, and two Spanish-language churches, see Emilio Núñez’s report. We’re grateful to TheMount Bible Church for hosting our annual meeting this year. AssistanceOur church on Oahu, Daybreak Church, became the catalyst for helping those on the islandof Maui who experienced a devastating wildfire earlier this year. Over $25K was raised toassist those in need. Our church on Guam experienced one of the strongest typhoons indecades this past year and escaped with minor damage to their church. We assisted inencouraging churches to apply for the Employee Retention Credit grant that distributedthousands of dollars to non-profits.PRESIDENT’S MINISTRY UPDATE2venturechurches.org cbglobal.church/dhodchurch.wixsite.com/website gospelguamgospelguam.com worshipwithpassion.com

Setting Up For SuccessIt is a privilege and honor to work as the Church Planting Director for the Pacific ChurchNetwork. Our goal is to help our network spot potential planters and leaders; set them upfor success; send them out; and support them. The focus of what we do comes directly from Acts chapter 13 and consists of supportthrough providing ten environments: Spiritual Vitality; Funding; Recruiting; Discovery; VisionAlignment; Training; Coaching; Caring; Creativity; and Partnering. New Church PlantersWe were able to send TJ and Jess McCall to Palm Springs. They are in the process ofstarting Passion Church in the old Palm Springs Baptist Church building. Mel and Rachel Hennegan are planting Gospel Life Church on Guam. The Hennegans havecompleted a church planting internship on the mainland and are back in Guam, settlingback in and raising support for their new church. “The vision of Gospel Life is to exaltChrist and share God’s love through the gospel. We believe that the Church is the Gospelmade visible. And we desire to be the hands and feet of Jesus on the island of Guam.”Daniel and Dee Gray are the newest PCN church planters. They are planting Divine Houseof Deliverance church in the Dallas, Texas area. Connection EventsWe held Connection Events for church planters and leaders in 2023. Great events occurredin Pasadena, Anaheim, Los Angeles, San Diego, Ontario, and in Texas.Discovery Centers A huge challenge in church planting is finding leaders. We now offer one of the bestchurch planting discovery structures in America—the Excel Leadership Network DiscoveryCenter—an event involving multiple days, multiple advisors, multiple exercises, multipletools, and multiple outcomes (Recommended, Conditionally Recommended, or NotRecommended… we suggest other doors to knock on for Not-Recommended clients) to helppotential planters see if this is the right ministry fit for them. In 2023, PCN had severalpotential planters go through the center. CHURCH PLANTING8
Coaching“For waging war you need guidance and for victory many advisers.”—Proverbs 24:6 2023 saw PCN implement our coaching system. We have several trained church plantingcoaches who meet regularly with planters for encouragement, advice, and support. We alsohave a remote residency program to help church planters get prepared for their plantingjourney. Mel and Rachel Hennegan are the first PCN planters to go through the remoteprogram. FundingWe have employed a new funding approach for PCN planters that includes investments, notgrants; matching funds; and incentive-laden agreements. The new approach has beenworking well.It has been a joy to be part of the team and to serve the planters and potential partners inPCN and Venture Church network. I look forward to celebrating all that God continues todo in and through this ministry.Looking forward,CHURCH PLANTING9JD Pearring | Church Planting DirectorJD joined the PCN team in 2022 to lead our church planting.
