LAST NIGHT OF THE PROMS Fanfare Gordon Jacob God Save the Queen Thomas Arne The Mastersingers of Nuremberg Overture Richard Wagner Aprite un po quegli occhi from the Marriage of Figaro W A Mozart featuring Samson Setu Baritone Chanson De Matin Edward Elgar featuring Maia Dean Martin Violin TBC featuring Caroline Everitt Mezzo PETER THOMAS Peter Thomas is a New Zealand based conductor and music educator He is the music director and conductor of the Auckland Symphony Orchestra and Head of Music at Epsom Girls Grammar School Peter has conducted many orchestras including the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra Auckland Youth Orchestra St Matthew s Chamber Orchestra and Devonport Chamber Orchestra Though his repertoire is broad he feels an affinity with Romantic and 20th century works and is particularly passionate about performing new music Peter graduated with a Bachelor of Music from the University of Auckland sometime last century As a music educator he inspires his students to strive for excellence but have fun while doing it a philosophy which he extends to many other walks of life His other activities include contract work for NZQA occasional radio and TV appearances and directing Remuera Music School Children s March Percy Grainger I Dreamed a Dream from Les Miserables Arnold Schoenberg featuring Caroline Everitt Mezzo Allegretto non troppo from Symphonie Espagnole douard Lalo featuring Maia Dean Martin Violin Ol Man River from Showboat Jerome Kern featuring Samson Setu Baritone Bacchanale from Samson and Delilah Camille Saint Sa ns INTERVAL OF 20 MINUTES God Defend New Zealand Thomas Bracken CAROLINE EVERITT Caroline has been singing for over 25 years and loves it Memorable roles include Cosette in Les Miserables for North Shore Music Theatre at the Bruce Mason Tzeltal in Fiddler on the Roof Peep Bo in The Hot Mikado and most recently The Beggar Woman in Sweeney Todd Luisa in Nine for Auckland Music Theatre and The Shakespeare Revue and Tomfoolery with the production company Four Men at Lunch Caroline has completed her Trinity College LTCL singing exam in Classical and ATCL in Musical Theatre participated in an Operatunity country wide tour attended masterclasses with Jason Robert Brown and Adam Guettel and has continued to study under the fabulous vocal tutelage of Janice Webb By day Caroline works in her family business Devonport Chocolates and teaches singing 633 Squadron Ron Goodwin Vera Lynn Singalong White Cliffs of Dover Lilli Marlene There ll Always be an England Dambusters March Eric Coates Highland Cathedral Ulrich Roever and Michael Korb featuring Isaac Turner Soul Bossa Nova Theme from Austin Powers Quincy Jones Fantasia on British Sea Songs Henry Wood Rule Britannia Thomas Arne Pomp Circumstance March No 1 Edward Elgar Jerusalem Hubert Parry arr Edward Elgar You ll Never Walk Alone Rodgers and Hammerstein MAIA DEAN MARTIN Violinist Maia Dean is 17 years old and attends Whangarei Girls High Before starting high school in 2018 she was home schooled for 13 years She has been playing the violin since she was 3 years old She studied with Victoria Harkness from Whangarei for 10 years and has been with current teacher Mary O Brian from Auckland for the past 5 years Maia Dean has competed in numerous competitions over the years and won a number of awards She went to the semifinals of the National Chamber Group Competitions in 2014 2015 and 2016 and attended the finals in 2017 with groups from Northland and Auckland MaiaDean is a recipient of a Dame Malvina scholarship and would like to be a violin teacher later on in life
