Oakland Power Trio STIMULI Release their Explosive Debut Album THEY ARE WE

Page 2

Bay Area rock band STIMULI create thoughtful and heavy rock music about the human condition, delivered through Jimmy Tomahawk's melodic and edgy vocals and spacious and heavy guitar riffing, Tai Hake's solid and snarling bass tones, and Cole Andrew's intricate and powerful drumming. STIMULI released their first official full-length album titled THEY ARE WE in stores and online worldwide on August 17, 2018. The album is a winding 11-track explosion of the trio's dense, ambitious, and fiercely original sound.

"Undeniably one of the best hard rock albums of the year 2018. Pick it up and enjoy the creativity of STIMULI. To the European festival scouts: book this band, they are absolutely fantastic!"  -Key and Chords   http://www.keysandchords.com/album-review-blog/stimulithey-are-we

"Delve into the world of STIMULI and you’ll be met with something deep, meaningful and insightful. The tone of this band undoubtedly lending their offerings an earnestness that’s dripping with 90s candour. In many ways, these are aspects you’ll also encounter in this Oakland outfit’s music, where you’ll also find the use of instruments such as sitar, Native American flute and ambient synthesizers. Setting STIMULI out as being a band who look to infuse their grinding bass-heavy hard rock with elements not usually associated with this style." -Sea of Tranquility

"They Are We, their first album, is not far from curling a certain perfection."  -Music in Belgium   http://www.musicinbelgium.net/pl/modules.php?name=Reviews&rop=showcontent&id=9535

"Prog power trio that gets extra points for hating lawyers, their riff isn’t about changing the world, it’s about making teen’s world’s less bleak and less feeling alone in the wilderness.  Not bad ideals.  Speaking a bunch of basic truths, their lyrics are as hard-hitting as their sonic assault." -MidwestRecord.com

"Coming over as a cross between old school STP and a passionately raw Soundgarden, STIMULI have, and without a shadow of a doubt, come together to bring forth one of the best albums of 2018. Not only do Stimuli masterfully rock the traditional power trio format, the band also incorporates synth atmospherics and eclectic instrumentation that is not often associated with contemporary Hard Rock. I mean, aside from Tai Hake being a master of the bass, he also plays Theremin, which is one of the most intricate and hardest instruments to perform...and here, well, let's just say that Hake is a master at it. With a common thread throughout the album inclusive of moments of Native American flute, sitar, acoustic guitar and ambient synthesizers, lyrically, Stimuli's themes possess a rare depth - insightful and meaningful, ruminating on personal experiences and reflections about peace, empathy, destiny, and self-actualization."  -Exclusive Magazine

"STIMULI is an appropriate name for these new Bay-area hard rockers because this music covers so many emotions, textures, and cultural styles. These are compelling sounds, it inspires and it rocks, and also offers pause for contemplation. The end result is a pulsating intense groove not unlike the best of the more intelligent 90s-era hard rock bands if they were also infused with a significant indigenous cultural connection. I only hope these guys keep their chins up,  stick out the rigors of the road, and keep plugging away at self-promotion. If they can secure the right support and backing STIMULI could eventually be the next big thing."  -Maximum Ink Magazine

"For those who love hard rock, who want to philosophize about the condition of mankind, They Are We by STIMULI is an excellent choice."

"Beginning with "+X-," you will instantly notice the excellent musicianship within the band as this trio delivers a edgier progressive rock side to their music. The album continues with the raw, grunge sound of "The New Dream" and the worldly, Middle-Eastern draw of "Sandstorm." The band really take off on the adventurous, sonic landscape of "Fire In Disguise," as you can full appreciate the band's talents for songwriting. STIMULI bring on an all-out hard rock assault with the chugging guitars and thunderous drums of "Ripple," before slowing down for the more melodic tones of "Only Liars." They finish up their new album with the steady buzz of "How On Earth" and the atmospheric, progressive rock appeal of "Pushing The Stone."  -JP's Music Blog
