I offeradvice and help you plan an itinerary which works for you - time, interests, budget. Tours are available throughout the year.Your tour is personal, private, individual and unique - you don’t share it withanyone else (except me!). This means that it is completely flexible to suit youand your interests - and can fit in with any other plans you have for your time inCornwall.I accompany you throughout the tour but you can of course choose to exploreon your own at each garden or location.“ Takingpeople roundis a pleasure …it never feelslike work! ”Hello - let me explain!I'm Jeremy Alder and I'm the driver, guide, tourplanner and owner of Cornwall Garden Tours.I've lived and worked in Cornwall since 2006 andbefore that was a regular holiday visitor. After 30 years working in public service I wasmade redundant so in 2012 I took theopportunity to combine my love of gardens, experience of helping people and living inCornwall to start Cornwall Garden Tours.Taking people round Cornwall and helping ‘makeevery minute count' is both a pleasure and aprivilege - it never feels like work!I hope this brochure can answer your questionsabout planning your own visit or booking a tourwith me - but if not please email me atjeremy@cornwallgardentours.co.uk and I willdo my very best to help you.

How many people can tour?I can take up to four people at a time - but there is no minimum size and several ofmy tours have been for a single traveller.Using a small vehicle means I can take you to gardens and locations larger coachtours cannot access - and we can normally travel round Cornwall more easily andquickly so you have more time for seeing wonderful gardens! When can I visit?I can provide a tour at any time of the year - subject to my availability. Spectacularspring colour starts in February with magnificent magnolias and by April allgardens are bursting into bud, flower and leaf.Cornwall has a very mild climate and there are some gardens and otherattractions open throughout the year - even during the 'off season' fromNovember to February.“ A flexible, guided tour of Cornwall's mostbeautiful gardens - Jeremy is a knowledgeableand personable guide.”  Betty, WashingtonFloras’s Green, Lost Gardens of Heligan

It was a fabulous threedays.Jeremy had organised the days so that we saw arange of gardens from the very small such as PoppyCottage and Marsh Villa Gardens to the huge such asHeligan and Trebah. It was a very well organised schedule and Jeremy'sexperience was very valuable as he had visited thegardens many times and knew the shortcuts and tipsto make the time we had available spent seeing thebest that was on offer. As we were from New Zealandhe made sure we saw any gardens that had links toour country which we really appreciated. Jeremy metus at the train station and delivered us to the trainstation again when we left.I would HIGHLY recommend using Jeremy andCornwall Garden Tours if you want to specifically seecertain gardens in Cornwall and don't want to berushed as is so often the case in bus tours. Histransport was new, clean and comfortable and he wasvery attentive to our needs. He is very easy to communicate with when organisingthe tour from afar!..and this Result!”Hidden ValleySt Just in RoselandLanhydrockMary and Jenny

Does it matter where I stay?I am happy to collect and return you to any part of Cornwall - so the choice ofwhere to stay is yours. I also leave it to you to choose and book youraccommodation - be it a cosy bed and breakfast, self-catering cottage or all theluxury of a large hotel. The final itinerary can involve you staying at more than one location - I pick youand your luggage up in the morning and at the end of the day's tour I drop youoff somewhere new. This works well if you are relying on public transport, if aguided tour is only a part of your holiday or you want to see more of Cornwalland have limited time. How long are the tours?Again this is entirely up to you . You can ask for just a half day tour or one ormore full day tours - which can be either consecutive days or separated.Similarly the length of the day plus when we start and finish is also your choice.Depending on the opening time of our first stop and the distance we need totravel I can advise whether a longer or shorter day is required. The pace of each tour is dictated by you. We can spend the whole day walkingand visiting with barely a break - or you can choose to take it gently and have aleisurely lunch. I am happy to fit in with your preference. Many customers have included a railway station or airport drop-off / pick-up aspart of their tour. This means you can make the most of your first or last day inCornwall and don’t need to arrange a taxi.Lanhydrock

What does a tour cost and what is included? Each of my tours is costed separately to reflect the number of people, where westart and finish, where we visit and the length of the tour.As a rough guide a typical full day (8 hour) tour for two people visiting threegardens would be between £230 and £270 in total. If you book three or moredays I reduce my quote. The price I quote is for the whole tour (not per person) and includes pickup anddrop off from your accommodation, entrance fees to all the gardens andattractions we visit, and any ferry or parking fees - so no hidden extras.I provide complementary bottled water and you are also welcome to browse orborrow from my travelling library of books about Cornwall's gardens, heritageand history. What sort of vehicle do you use?I currently run my tours using a five-seater Peugeot Partner Tepee. This has airconditioning, sliding doors and plenty of headroom. Together with complementaryrefreshments and my travelling library I carry spare hats, gloves, bags, cameraand phone chargers you are welcome to borrow - everything but the kitchensink!I am licensed for Private Hire by the local council which means the vehicle ischecked and inspected every 6 months.Magnificient Magnolias - a Spring highlight

Page 21

How easy is it to book? From the initial enquiry by email or phone to the start of their tour the timerequired by previous customers has varied between 16 hours and just under ayear!I completely understand that many of my customers spend just a few days inCornwall as part of a much longer overseas holiday so it can take a lot ofplanning and organising before they know when they will visit and for how long.I am happy to exchange emails for as long as it takes for you to finalise bookingsand for us to agree an itinerary.Whether you have a list of “must see” gardens or just know the type you likethen I try and suggest an itinerary which includes those which should be lookinggood for that time of year, and offers variety in terms of size, style and planting.I also try and keep the amount of driving time to a minimum to help you makethe most of your time.Once we have agreed the itinerary and the price further changes can still bemade - including during the tour if your circumstances change or you find outabout somewhere different to see.How can I pay?I use PayPal for secure credit card payments in advance - so I do not haveaccess to or store any personal details other than those for contacting you.You receive an invoice by email and I ask that you pay in full by a month inadvance. Prior to this I offer a full refund should you choose to cancel yourbooking. If you book a tour at very short notice I will accept cash payment atthe beginning of your tour.Bonython“ Great tourexperience …this tour waseasy to book “Sandra, Chicago
