Executive Summarydirectors and strategic business partners. The Kentucky 811 board of directors expanded by adding 3 newmembers to fill vacancies created by retirements.Operationally, we broke records and expanded in several areas. October was the busiest month in thehistory of Kentucky 811 with a record-breaking inbound volume total of 64,728 requests. 2024 inboundvolumes exceeded 2023 for 9 of the 12 months. Inbound locate requests increased 5.7% over 2023volumes and 17.5% more than 2022. As a matter of fact, our inbound requests have increased for 12consecutive years. The result was nearly 2.7 million locate requests being transmitted to our memberutilities to be located in 2024.Online locate requests averaged 81.4% for 2024 and ended the year above 85%. That far exceeded ourgoals and expectations.Online request entry is an excellent way to submit locate requests because therequester can use drawing tools to indicate precisely where they plan to dig. This helps the respondingutility locator provide a more inclusive and accurate field locate. This adds tremendous efficiency andstreamlines the process. Kentucky 811 has a commitment to continuous improvement and innovation. There’s a quote that says,“goals are put in place to win once, systems are put in place to win repeatedly”. We added technology andautomation to many of our processes and continue to look to enhance our systems and servicedeliverables. We launched a new user-friendly public facing website and development is currently underway on a dynamic web-based education and outreach site that will house our library of digital, video andaudio content. Our team is engaged with our strategic business partners to explore opportunities, andemploy where possible, knowledge-based artificial intelligence and augmented reality tools in areas ofmapping, customer interfaces, requests notification and ticket management. As a result of the outstanding efforts of our employees and strategic business partners and the excellent strategic direction and leadership provided by the Board of Directors, Kentucky Underground Protection, Inc., is financially sound, has excellent controls in place, is structurally solid and positioned for many more years of overwhelming growth and success.Please join me in continuing our mission of underground utility damage prevention. That year was focused on laying the groundwork—allocatingresources and making key preparations for the future. The work done in 2023 proved to beessential, enabling us to achieve remarkable success in 2024.We expanded our education and outreach results by utilizing the talents of our DamagePrevention Managers, Jamie Gaddis and Patrick Donoghue. Their efforts reached 10’s ofthousands of stakeholders with safe digging, law review and jobsite safety messages. Our staff expanded with the addition of Diane Bischoff as Business Manager.
