Independent Distribution Collective presents our 56th Solicitation just in time for first quarter placement (our firstof this year). We are excited about many of these new releases and are very proud to have a handful of great artists joining IDC. Please note we moved both our physical and warehouse locations in early August of 2013. Greg Kihn- Rubber Soul
Greg Kihn continues to pioneer the Rock and Roll thriller genre with his fifth novel, Rubber Soul, featuring The Beatles themselves. Part murder mystery, part coming-of-age story, and a 100% action-packed ride through Beatlemania, Greg Kihn got the idea for Rubber Soul based on his interviews with Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Patti Harrison, Yoko Ono and original Beatles drummer Pete Best. With historical details that are 100% accurate, Rubber Soul is a must for every Beatles aficionado. Premier Digital Publishing released Rubber Soul in both hardcover and digital formats on September 3, 2013. Rubber Soul’s protagonist is Bobby Dingle, AKA Dust Bin Bob, who Greg states, was developed when, “I asked where the Beatles got theirrecords, and their answers inspired the central character, Dust Bin Bob,and this novel.”

Reacta- Refraction
Reacta is Mexican Alternative Rock Powerhouse and has spent the last two years becoming a local sensation in their hometown of Aguascalientes, Mexico. Beginning as an instrumental band, Reacta took off when they combined their wall of sound fusion with American troubadour William Merritt Hendricks. Their debut album Refraction was born in the “La felicidad se encurntra en la simplicidad de las cosas” culture of Aguascalientes, Mexico that translates to ‘Happiness lays upon simplicity.’ The album is an exploration into the power that can be derived from reveling in simple emotions. Their sound is strong mix of Incubus, The Killers, and Explosions in the Sky. Despite it’s small town vibe, sonically the album is extremely commercial. It is relatable, easy to listen to, and licensable. It is the kind of Alternative/Alt Pop that you would find on US TV shows like Friday Night Lights or Grey’s Anatomy.

The Soft White Sixties- Get Right
The Soft White Sixties will release their debut full-length album, ‘Get Right.’ on March 4, 2014. ‘Get Right.’ is driven by the hard hitting rock beats of drummer Joey Bustos who is locked in step with Ryan Noble’s melodic bass lines, Aaron Eisenberg’s nouveau vintage guitar and keyboards and the quartet is capped off by the seductive vocals of Octavio Genera. It is the much anticipated follow up to their 2011 EP which garnered the band attention and praise when it was picked up by NBC's Golf Channel, KEXP, Live 105 amongst others. True to form, The Soft White Sixties are a band in every sense of the word, featuring four distinctive players. The style of each member melds together perfectly to create infectious get-up-and-dance songs with insightful lyrics, deft musicianship and a killer live show.

First Light gets its cue from the braggadocio and conceptual characteristics that were commonly expressed in the early nineties "Golden Era" of hip hop. But, at the same time, their way of displaying an affinity for and a loathing of the apathy and debauchery that permeates today's pop culture is poetically contradictory. The highly respected veteran artist gives a gritty take on the reality of living in the urban streets of Jamaica on the title song with accompanying video “Full Blast” with Cutty bringing a strong message of non-violence and justice. Featured artists on the album in collaboration with Cutty include top Reggae names in the business including a pair of Grammy-nominated Jamaican superstars: Beres Hammond with their sweet pairing on “Way To Go,” Luciano “Long Life,” and a combination with the late veteran female American R&B vocalist Gwen Guthrie (of “Ain’t Nuttin Going On But The Rent” fame) on an original song called “My Girl”.

Legendary 80’s rocker, Greg Kihn, is proud to announce the release of his new album, Greg Kihn Band: Best of Beserkley, 1974-1985, as both hardcopy CD and digital download. Best of Beserkley, 1974-1985’s 21-tracks features 19 Greg Kihn remastered original hits drawn from Greg’s eight-of-nine full-length Beserkley Records studio albums, including The Breakup Song (They Don’t Write ‘em Like That), Jeopardy, Happy Man and Reunited, along with two tribute tracks to Bruce Springsteen (long considered one of Greg’s biggest musical influences), Rendezvous and For You.
Mickey Hart Band - Mysterium Tremendum CD TSP#0101 IDC#0478
On Mysterium Tremendum, The Mickey Hart Band consists of Widespread Panic bassist Dave Schools, Grammy winning percussionist and longtime band mate Sikiru Adepoju, Tony Award winning vocalist Crystal Monee Hall, singer Tim Hockenberry, drummer Ian "Inx" Herman, guitarist Gawain Matthews, and keyboardist / producer, Ben Yonas. Mysterium Tremendum will be released by Hart's own 360° Productions. The album, recorded at Hart's Studio X in Sonoma County, CA, was co-produced by Hart and Ben Yonas. Special guests Steve Kimock, Reed Mathis appear on select tracks as well as long time collaborators, Zakir Hussain, and Giovanni Hidalgo.
