Message
Blessed for a reason Dear Friends, Who could have imagined, when we first thought of establishing an encampment, how much God would bless us? Lives are being changed through the teaching and application of the Word. Our worship stirs hearts and exalts the Lord, our leadership functions with wisdom and insight, our fellowship rings with laughter and joy. And our growth has been exponential. Messengers from area associations met in front of a white cottage where the camp currently meets (which is near Talihina, Oklahoma) on May 21, 1941 to organize Kiamichi Baptist Assembly. KBA had its first camp here for Girls in Actions and Royal Ambassadors in 1941 under a brush arbor. The first full encampment began July 22, 1942. Since the turn of the millennium, we have seen a total attendance of 206,053 young people pass through our camp with total decisions numbering 25,059 and out of that number 12,354 were for receiving Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. We are the largest youth encampment in Oklahoma that is owned and operated by a partnership of local Southern Baptist Associations. It is not a coincidence that we are here at this time. We have a divine mandate to impact young and old with the message God has entrusted to us. We have the joy of telling the greatest story ever told – the life-changing Gospel of Jesus Christ – and those who need to hear it are growing in number day by day. The opportunity before us today cannot be missed. God provides the circumstances; we respond. Can you think of anything more wonderful than being the means through which God accomplishes His purpose? I can’t. Let’s join together in joyfully responding to His call. With great anticipation, Jay Baker KBA Camp Director you can make an impact Responding to God’s call The opportunity to impact the future is before us. Let’s rejoice that we have a role in advancing the Kingdom of God through KBA and around the world. God uses your gifts not only to impact the lives of others but also to change your own life as you honor Him with your resources (Proverbs 3:9-10). Not everyone can give the same amount, but everyone can give. Start with These steps: Involve your entire family in this project Pray for God’s direction Turn in Scripture for guidance Step out in faith Move forward with commitment Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal; for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. -Matthew 9:16-21 THE PROJECT THAT WILL HAVE AN IMPACT FOR ETERNITY We have set a campaign goal of $900,000 that will allow to complete the following: • Strengthen and expand the existing foundation. • Completely enclose the tabernacle with walls, windows, controlled entry and exists. • Add heating and air conditioning. • Upgrade the seating, stage area, audio/visual systems. • Create an outside venue attached to the front of the tabernacle for students to gather and fellowship. FOUR WAYS TO GIVE First, prayerfully determine a financial commitment to the building project. Second, consider what amount you will be able to give as an initial cash gift “up front”. Third, in addition to monetary gifts, you may have other assets -such as stocks and bonds- you would like to donate. Fourth, you may make KBA a beneficiary in your will. Your tax advisor can help you with this process. Existing Open Air Worship Tabernacle
