HISTORY AND ARCHITECTURE Established in 1914, our majestic building showcases the architectural imprint of Chicago’s Daniel Burnham. Renowned as the Director of Works for the 1892–93 World’s Columbian Exposition, famously dubbed “The White City,” Burnham’s legacy lives on in the JW Marriott Chicago hotel. Originally the Continental and Commercial Bank, the hotel stands as a timeless gem in the tapestry of Chicago’s architectural heritage.
