GRILLING 101TYPES OF GRILLS TO KNOWBest for: efficiency and ease.Gas grills are the most common typeof grill. There are two types of fuelavailable: liquid propane and naturalgas. Propane is the more popularoption, as most consumers don't havea natural gas supply available to tapinto for their grilling needs. Gas grillsheat up quickly and provide a quickcook time at high heat. Due to thisconvenience, they are typically moreexpensive. However, you may not beable to get that smoky taste other grillscan offer.Best for: getting both thechargrilled and smoky flavors.While these grills may seem more highmaintenance, they are a perfect way toget an intense, smoky flavor. Thesegrills use charcoal briquettes, woodchips, or a combination of the two tocook food. Cook time is typicallylonger with a charcoal grill than withan alternative fuel source; the charcoalcan take around 30 minutes to heatbefore it's ready to grill. The charcoalturns to ash during the grilling, soregular cleanup is required. Best for: smoking meats.While smokers are technically notconsidered grills, they are a verypopular outdoor cooking option.Smokers come in a variety of fueltypes, like charcoal, electric, or gas.Very similar to wood pellet grills,smokers rely on a combination ofwood and water for added flavor. Thiscooking method relies on a lengthycook time at a steady, lowtemperature. This makes them best atsmoking big racks or cuts of meat for amouthwatering meal. GAS GRILL CHARCOAL GRILL SMOKERDIRECTIONS:Husk corn. Rub corn and jalapenos with 2tablespoons of canola oil. Grill, covered, on agreased grill rack over medium-high direct heatuntil lightly charred on all sides, 10-12 minutes.Remove from heat. When jalapenos are coolenough to handle, remove the skin, seeds, andmembranes; chop finely. Set aside.Sprinkle corn with 1/2 teaspoon salt. In a smallskillet, heat the remaining oil over mediumheat. Add panko; cook and stir until starting tobrown. Add paprika and oregano; cook untilcrumbs are toasted and fragrant.Meanwhile, combine cream cheese, crema, limejuice, and remaining salt; spread over corn.Sprinkle with bread crumbs, jalapenos, andchipotle pepper.
