June 2, 2023ג״פשת ןויס ג”י אשנ תשרפ UNITY 7:57 PMDear Parents,In Parshas Naso, the possuk describes the contributions of the שש ׳ה ינפל םנברק תא ואיביו :םיאישנ ןכשמה ינפל ובירקיו דחאל רוש םיאישנה ינש לע הלגע רקב רשע ינשו בצ תולגע. They brought their offerings before Hashem, six covered wagons and 12 oxen, a wagon for each two leaders, and an ox for each; and they brought them before the Mishkan. The םיאישנ spared no expense for the offerings they brought for the Chanukas HaMishkan. Aside for the numerous animals – twenty-one in total – the mincha offerings were brought in silver bowls and silver basins. The ketores was brought in golden ladles. The gift was certainly a model of generosity for all Klal Yisrael. One donation, however, seems to be out of sync: The wagons donated to transport the Mishkan. Instead of donating one wagon per shevet, every two םיאישנ donated one wagon for a total of six. Could it be possible that the םיאישנ suddenly became thrifty? The Meforshim explain that during the Chanukas HaMishkan, the atmosphere must have been very conducive for competition. Each Nasi was given one day to show his personal commitment to Hashem and the Mishkan. If that competition would be allowed to fester, it could have quickly led to tension among the Shevatim. The םיאישנ wanted to set an example and demonstrate the Mishkan was not a place for competition. They, therefore, acted תודחאב by sharing the expense for a component of their gift. With this in mind, we can understand a comment of the Da’as Zekeinim in Pashas Vayigash. When Yosef reveals his identity to his brothers and instructs them to tell Yaakov that he is alive, he sent them home in wagons – תולגע. The possuk informs us םהיבא בקעי חור יחתו תולגעה תא אריו. When Yaakov saw the wagons, his spirit was revived. Rashi writes that these תולגע hinted at the last topic Yosef had studied with Yaakov, the sugya of הפורע הלגע. The םיניקז תעד understands that these wagons were foreshadowing the wagons in Parshas Nasso that the םיאישנ would donate to the Mishkan; it was this that revived Yaakov. Yaakov had greeted the news of Yosef’s survival with mixed emotions. The hatred of the brothers towards Yosef had not caused Yosef’s death, but perhaps the animosity between the descendants would remain and divide Klal Yisrael. However, when he saw the wagons - a symbol of the unity of the םיאישנ and of their efforts to maintain unity – he realized that his descendants could dwell together in harmony, and his spirit was restored. תבש טוג!Rabbi Ochs●● Sunday, June 11 - Rebbeim’s meeting- 11:30 AM dismissal.● Friday, June 16 - last day of school for 8G.● Sunday, June 18 - last day of school for 8B.● Sunday, June 18 -8B and 8G Graduation.● Tues., June 20 - last day of school for Preschool, 1-7B,and 1-7G. 12:00 PM dismissal.
