Our June member highlight shines on Gabrielle Giarrusso! Introducedto us by one of our board members early in the membership year,Gabrielle was captivated by our mission from the start.Gabrielle has made significant contributions to our organization byleveraging her network of costumers and sewists. Thanks to herefforts, we connected with several sewists for our Prom Day event inMarch. Additionally, she rallied her friends to participate in our BlackHistory Month Stretch and Serve event resulting in the completion of500 school supply kits for our Operation School Bell program.Gabrielle, your dedication to sharing your network and securingresources for the children of LA is deeply appreciated. Thank you!For the final month of our 2023-2024 membership year, we switched our monthlyStretch and Serve event for “First Impressions Matter” a member benefit event incollaboration with the Los Angeles Urban League’s Young Professionals. We hadprofessional headshots taken, 1:1 LinkedIn Profile Consultations and networking overcoffee, bagels and cupcakes. All attendees gained insights into optimizing their LinkedInprofiles and discovered effective strategies to enhance visibility to recruiters andemployers. Our last “Sip and Serve” event of the membership year focused on filling spring virtualbackpack orders for the League’s Operation School Bell Program. Members turned intopersonal shoppers and packed their favorite items for 28 kids while enjoying beer andpizza. Our members thoroughly enjoyed seeing the process that entails creating a virtual backpack! After all the fun, membersrenewed their membership for the 2024-2025 year.
