Opening MessageBorn AgainPastor Joseph Chi"Born Again". These two words were first coupledtogether by Jesus in that famous conversation heshared with the Pharisee Nicodemus. Nicodemus wasutterly confused. But for Jesus the point was simpleyet profound. True faith means to be born again in theHoly Spirit. A new heart, new soul, new mind, and anew life ... all in and through the Holy Spirit. Jesusoffers this to the world. In our sin, we are dead people living in a dead anddiminishing world. But now in Christ and through HisSpirit we are made new and alive. Jesus himself wouldwalk this very path of re-birth on that first Easter. Hebore our sin. He died our death. And then on thatfollowing Sunday, the Heavenly Father faithfully, aspromised, raised His own beloved Son, Jesus Christ to anew life. He too experienced what he offered to youand me true newness in the Lord. That re-birth was sodramatic that even Mary Magdalene could notrecognize her Lord believing Jesus to be a gardener. Often we think and feel that newness of being bornagain isn't very different, if at all, from our slavery tosin. But it is dramatic. The Heavenly Father no longersees strangers, but children, not sinners but saints, notsinful but righteous and holy because of Jesus ... He nolonger sees death but life. May we thrive and cherishthe new birth given us as we live our days spreadingthe scent of eternal life in this place of death. Withwisdom, joy, and compassion, Keller draws on forty-fiveyears as a pastor and a parent to consider what it meansto receive a new birth as well as to be reborn. Theperfect gift for someone who is about to become aparent or is searching for the true meaning ofChristianity, On Birth is a short, powerful book thatilluminates God's vision of life. , . , .Tim Keller’s “On Birth” divides birth, one of the greatevents in human life, into two births: new birth throughthe creation and a second birth through God’sredemption, or being “born again”, allowing readers tolook at birth from a Christian lens.He says that salvation can only begin through beingborn again to have a new life, and Just as a newbornchild is helpless at birth, we too must acknowledge thatwe are who can do nothing of being born again so needto look to and rely on only God’s grace.BOOK OF THE MONTH 풀을뜯어먹는소처럼독서하라-이어령-J U B I L E E B I B L I3도서관 ID: jubilee 2022-03-15 "처음 태어날 때는 어머니가 목숨을 걸었기에 너희가 육의 생명을 얻었지만, 두 번째 날때는 내가 목숨을 버렸기에 너희가 영의 영생을 얻는다" 심령의 거듭남은 우리가 할 수 있는 일이 아니다. 아기가 자기 힘으로 임신이 되고 태어날 수 없음과 마찬가지로.

And so it is profoundly importantto understand how to approach andexperience these occasions with grace, endurance, and joy. , , . “ , , ” , , . , , . .- -J U B I L E E B I B L I4It makes the reader look back on their birth and rebirthand at the same time, speaks to parents who have eithercommitted their children to live in faith or are reluctantto have children due to the overwhelmingresponsibilities in raising one, calling for them to seekrebirth as it becomes a spiritual guide for them in raisingtheir children. It explains of the beginning, object, result, and methodof being born again and through Nicodemus and theSamaritan woman, it emphasizes that everyone must beborn again, and anyone can be born again as well. It also, challenges those who both have taken it for granted andhave not been able to accept the grace of being bornagain due to their own shortcomings.Coming from a long-standing pastoral ministry andfather of three children, his understanding of birth andrebirth is outstanding, and I would recommend thisbook especially for parents who are now parents tryingto raise their children in faith as well as to those whohaven’t experienced being born again. Despite its small size, the encouragement this bookletpresents is as good as any other thicker books. -Jubilee Librarian Seyung Kim-소개된책들은기쁨의교회전자도서관에서대출하실수있습니다.https://jubilee.dkyobobook.co.kr/main.ink

Great isthe faithfulness of the father who created us inhis image and protects us from the beginningto eternity. We pray for Ukraine, which is like acandle flickering before the wind. God, the Prince of Peace, let us share the painof the Lord who grieves with all those who arein the pain of war. Let us see the love of ChristJesus on the cross in this broken world whereit seems so natural for the powerful to takewhat they want by force. I pray that you would soften the hardenedheart of the leaders of Russia so that theyregain the fear of God in their hearts. Lord, have mercy on the Russian soldiers and theirfamilies, and give them peace. I lift up to youthe citizens of Ukraine who are groaning fromthe fear of war and physical pain. Even in these dark times, make us all trust inYou, the ruler of all life, and that you will notlet a single life to be lost outside of yoursovereignty. Let us continue to praise yourgoodness and faithfulness. Please comfortthose who mourn over the loss of theirfamilies with the hope of heaven and heal thebroken hearts of children who witnessed evil. Ipray that you would also comfort the hearts ofmany refuges who had no choice but to leavetheir hometowns. Protect them wherever theyare, and fill the hearts of those who care forthem with mercy and love. I pray that the Lord's churches would becomethe base of the living hope for those in timesof despair, so that the gospel of Christ iswitnessed and spreads even in the midst ofthis war. Let the Holy Spirit continue to givefaith to all of us who are anxious as we do notforesee how this war will end. Let us trust inthe amazing power of the Lord, and fix oureyes on the face of the Lord Jesus Christ, whois victorious against evil and death. Glory be toyou alone, who is worthy of praises by allthings in this world. I pray in the name ofJesus Christ, the Son of the living God. -Elder Andy KimJ U B I L E E B I B L I14

Mission Letter-The Baes in JapanAbout UsRich came to know Christ while at Princeton University inthe midst of the emptiness and the realization that therehad to be more to life than living out the "American Dream."As he grew in the Lord, he began to understand God's heartfor the world.Susan was raised Buddhist and began to follow Christ afterhearing the gospel at age 13. Afterwards, her heart burnedwith the knowledge that not all people have theopportunity to hear this message.God brought us together during medical school after weeach committed to serving in missions. After we completedour family medicine residency and seminary training, wewent to Asia and served there for ten years. Our ministriesincluded medical care, discipleship, evangelism, missionarycare, and church planting. We returned to the U.S. in 2017 where Rich worked at theSIM USA headquarters as Vice President. We hope to develop relationships andgrow our network as we study. During this time, we willalso be learning from our church partnership with a localJapanese church.**Discovery**This stage in Japan will be a time of seeing what God isalready doing and asking how we can join Him. The blendof our medical degrees, prior missions experience, seminary training, Korean heritage, and Americanculture will allow us to serve a unique role in reachingout to those who normally would not be drawn to thechurch.J U B I L E E B I B L I21https://www.jubileechurch.net

His effortstouched me deeply and gave me a lot of comfort. After going through that hardship together, we becamecloser like comrades, loved each other deeply, and alsofelt more precious to each other's existence. The wilderness is a difficult place, but I think it is also aplace of joy where you can experience God's protectionand love. The husband who poured everything on me and filledmy life with overflowing love and consideration…https://jubilee-km.org/kor/The man who somehow disarmed me by saying "I LOVEYOU ANYWAY" whenever arguments started… Now,only the image of him lying comfortably as if sleepingremains in my memory as the last remnant.Longing comes to me without ceasing. He used to say that he was happy whenever I smiled,so I will try to laugh a lot during the remaining days Ihave on this earth and live a happy life. When I think of our reunion in the eternal place wherethere is no parting, my hope grows and my heartoverflows.God allowed me to meet precious church members andgood pastors, and to build a nest in the community ofJubilee.I pray earnestly that I can love more and be moregrateful, and be used by God as a small tool for him inthe future.“For you who fear my name, the sun of righteousnesswill rise with its rays of healing, and you will go out andleap like calves out of the stall.” (Malachi 4:2)In Loving Memory of John Sprouse

Like all the children being baptizedtoday, I think we have all experienced a very unique andsome would say traumatic time to deliver a baby into theworld. Physically, we endured a long and uncertainpregnancy, labored with a mask on, and got a Covid testin between contractions. But more so mentally, myhusband Justin and I were always weighing out the risksof every decision before and after Joel was born in termsof a potential corona virus exposure for our family. Theline between being wise but also trusting in God’sprotection was many times blurred by scary headlinesand stories of Covid complications. The first severalmonths of Joel’s life were probably one of the hardestseasons for Justin and me, but in retrospect, God wasand is faithful. He has protected our family and providedus Joel as a beautiful reminder of no matter the difficultyand circumstance, God is good.We would like to dedicate to Joel a Bible verse from Joel2:23:Be glad, people of Zion, Rejoice in the Lord your God, Forhe has given you the autumn rains Because he is faithful. As parents, we have no idea what type of world Joel willface. It’s in our natural desire to control and protect himfrom all trials and difficulties. But we pray that throughsome of the darkest of valleys and highest of mountainpeaks, Joel would deeply experience God’s love for him. That he would personally come to know the extent thatGod loved him so much that he gave up His one and onlyson, Jesus, for him. And that as parents and familymembers, we would trust that the love we have for Joelis far exceeded by God’s intimate care for his life andsoul. -Justin & Agnes Park/Joel Park's parentsJ U B I L E E B I B L I26https://www.jubileechurch.net
