Experiencing life change through a personal encounter with God F R O M T H E D I R E C T O R More than 17 years ago my wife and I were dreaming about our ideal ministry We envisioned a place that would equip young people to effectively share the Gospel with others both locally and worldwide We wanted to see God transform hearts toward pursuing Jesus Christ Not much later we found ourselves at Joy El and quickly realized that the Lord had brought us to that very place Seventeen years later we see fruit born that spans the globe Since 1938 the ministry has been igniting a generation that seeks Him Psalm 24 6 There are three significant ways God is doing this through Joy El 1 Through His Word It is the foundation of all our programs It is living and active Hebrews 4 12 We teach it and help children to memorize it 2 Through God s people sharing the love of Jesus Listeners teachers Bible Adventure coordinators 4 12 Leadership program mentors and summer camp counselors and speakers walk alongside the children Paul said it like this We loved you so much that we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well because you had become so dear to us 1 Thessalonians 2 8 3 Through our campground Our facility is set apart for this mission Since the first summer camp in 1974 God has been using this beautiful setting for people to leave the routine of life and experience renewal with their Creator Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest Mark 6 31b God is on the move Will you join us Igniting hope in generations that seek Him AARON E ZIEBARTH EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

A rich history A P R E S E N T N E E D In 1932 Walter and Marie Jensen saw hopelessness in the faces of children and THEY PRAYED God grew their concerns into a real burden for the spiritual needs of thousands of unreached children and again THEY PRAYED In simple obedience they ran Bible camps focused on scripture memorization in their Florida home Children s Bible Mission was officially born in 1935 Since that humble beginning thousands of lives have been transformed by a saving relationship with Jesus As a result of continued faithful obedience to God s call the impact has been world wide Today servants too numerous to mention continue to ignite hope in the lives of children in a magnitude only made possible by God s power The call to bring the Word of God to the hearts and lives of children is stronger and clearer than ever at Joy El Daily we see events unfold that shake the stability of our nation and the world The social support structures which historically have supported Biblical values seem to be eroding Yet we know that our hope is in the Lord As the Jensens saw Bible Clubs as an answer to the lack of hope they saw in the lives of children so Joy El is called to intentionally and lovingly provide children the opportunity to put God s Word into their hearts and to live out His truths Nehemiah learned of the need to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem and HE PRAYED The Jensens saw the emptiness in the lives of children and THEY PRAYED Today we see more than ever the world wide need for the truth and power of God s Gospel and WE PRAY Such an amazing melding of two stories The Jensens desire to minister to young children through Bible memorization Nehemiah s need to rebuild physical walls Today Joy El needs walls built and rebuilt to continue God s ever expanding call to minister God s Word and truths to young people who boldly impact His world for Him P R A Y G O G I V E C E L E B R A T E
