Passionate about senior services and the newlylaunched breast cancer program, he also hopes to secure funding for a bigbrother/sister initiative. Doug’s journey with JFSA began with the simple belief that JFSA was primarily afood bank, but through his roles as treasurer and now co-chair, he has gained adeep appreciation for the organization’s wide-ranging programs and themeaningful difference they make in our community. He encourages communitymembers to support JFSA by donating time, resources, or volunteering to assistJFSA staff. Since joining the board, Amy has witnessed JFSA’sremarkable growth, from a small organization with fewer than 10 employees and amodest budget to a thriving agency with over 60 staff members. An avid bridge player, she often travels for tournaments. Launched onNovember 12 at Green Valley Ranch, one of twoLas Vegas Valley locations, these “vendingmachines with a purpose” allowed visitors topurchase essential items for those in need, suchas clothing, transportation passes, wig carepackages for breast cancer survivors, and evenbeds for individuals transitioning out ofhomelessness. With 100% of donations supporting JFSA andother local nonprofits like Baby’s Bounty andOpportunity Village, the machines raised over$693,000 last year, nearly $400,000 of whichbenefited Las Vegas charities. These special performancescelebrated the enduring power of music to uplift thehuman spirit, even in the darkest times.The Violins of Hope are a collection of violins that oncebelonged to Jewish individuals before and duringWorld War II. These instruments, symbols of hope andresilience, shared their poignant stories through music,reminding audiences of their transformative andhealing art.Highlights of the series included an intimate concerton September 21st, at The Industrial Event Spacefeaturing a string quartet led by Maestro Taras Krysaperforming on these historic violins. Guests whoattended the VIP cocktail hour before theperformance had the rare opportunity to view theviolins up close. Proceeds from the events supportedJFSA programs and services, providing help, hope, andsupport to individuals facing life’s most pressingchallenges. For the past decade, he has been a vital part ofthe Senior Companion Program, including six yearswith JFSA. As Senior Companion Project Manager,Dave oversees daily program operations, client casemanagement and volunteer relations. She loves exploring antique shops,collecting vintage cameras, and trying new restaurants.
