Our collective generosity today continues a legacy of giving back to Burroughs since 1923.CENTENNIAL CAMPAIGNOur Centennial Campaign includes all cash gifts and irrevocable bequests to Burroughs between now and June 30, 2026. This includes gifts to our Annual Fund, gifts to support existing or to establish new endowed funds, and all gifts to advance capital improvements to Drey Land, our Brauer Building, and our athletics facilities. By the end of our Centennial Campaign, we hope to announce that our endowment has grown to a value of at least $100M, total donations to our Annual Fund have grown to $3.1M, and capital improvements are fully funded through donations. Every gift and every donor matters! ENDOWMENTOur endowment is a perpetual source of investment income that supports our operating budget, specic academic programs, professional development, tuition aid, and more. The growth of our endowment is essential to controlling tuition increases and to our ability to attract and retain the most talented teachers. Most of our endowed funds are permanently restricted—monies set aside for a particular purpose as directed by the donor. Currently, our endowment, including both restricted and unrestricted assets, is not yet of a value consistent with our peer institutions. As a result, new gifts to endowment (including bequests) are a central focus of our Centennial Campaign. CAPITALDonors like you are essential partners in making our master campus plan a reality. Renovations to Drey Land (our wilderness camp in the Ozarks), improvements to our Brauer Building (including academic support, our iconic dining room, and more), and ongoing enhancements to our athletic facilities (including our tennis courts and soccer eld) are current priorities. If one or more of these projects is of interest to you, we invite you to consider making your gift a challenge gift to encourage others to also support these improvements to our campus.ANNUAL FUNDThe Burroughs Annual Fund is our primary fundraising campaign every school year, starting July 1 through June 30. Comprising more than 10% of the school’s operating budget, gifts at all levels play an essential role in every aspect of the Burroughs experience and provide exibility to address our most pressing needs. We rely on the collective generosity of our alumni, past parents, current parents, grandparents, and friends every year to ensure Burroughs continues to be a place where students can thrive and grow.SeptJuneOct Nov AprJUNE 3, 2024DAY OF GIVINGTo celebrate the Class of 2024.OCTOBER 6–7, 2023CENTENNIAL CELEBRATIONLive entertainment and more!CENTENNIAL CAMPAIGN EVENT CALENDAR PARTICIPATION23%90%30%15%SEPTEMBER 12, 2024BLUE & GOLD RECEPTIONFor donors who give $1,923 or more.NOVEMBER 28, 2023GIVING TUESDAYA global tradition since 2012.APRIL 24, 2024LEADERSHIP RECEPTIONFor donors who give $10,000 or more. All gifts have the power to make a big impact when combined with support from the collective Burroughs community. It takes more than any of us can give individually to bridge the gap between the actual cost of a Burroughs education and tuition. Give what you can and know that your support will make a dierence!
