Are you interested in learning the ins and outs of essay writing? J&B’s Green Program is tailored specically for young writers (Grades 4-7) hoping to boost their writing skills by understanding the fundamentals of micro and macro outlines and 5-paragraph essays, as well as prac-ticing advanced writing for essay competitions. As they move through three levels, students learn how to craft argumentative theses, detailed topic sentences and analyses, and basic research and referencing (MLA and APA) skills—all through interactive and informative Zoom lessons! Our Green Program has three levels: I, II, and II.
General Objectives:• Understand how to critically read short form works of writing• Identify key structural elements, craft analytical replies, and draw from personal experiences to form detailed responses • Develop an understanding of the logic and format of argumentative, article-based writing and create valid counterarguments WHY J&B’S GREEN PROGRAM?1. LEVEL IClass Title: Level I (5-Paragraph Macro & Micro Outlines) Objectives: Understand the fundamental components of both macro and mi-cro outlines, learn how to independently produce them from scratch, and gain basic research and referencing (MLA) skills Learning Outcomes: • Understand and create a macro outline. • Understand and create a micro outline. • Understand how to incorporate MLA referencing into the micro outline. • Apply knowledge by creating macro and micro outlines.
