Does making a New Year Resolutionseem like a daunting task to you? Don'tworry, this can be the case for manypeople.Most resolutions require changes to yourdaily habits and breaking habits can bedifficult even for the typical over-achiever.Breaking old habits or creating newhabits can take about 3 weeks for yourbody and brain to adjust to. It can takeeven longer for those habits to become adaily part of your life and thoughtprocess. Taking the time to set yourself up forsuccess is key in keeping thoseresolutions and making changes happen.Here are a few steps you can take to startthe year off running:Make your goals attainable.The easiest way to feel overwhelmed byyour resolution is to set a goal that mayfall just short of. While it is good to pushyourself, it can also make your goalseem just out of reach. Start slow andbuild your way up to what you want.Plan ahead.If your goal is to eat healthier, but youhaven’t done any grocery shopping tohelp you with that goal, it will be easierto keep pushing it off. Don’t wait untilthe clock strikes 12 to think about yourresolutions. that you can t still complete your goal You can always re strategize and jump back into it Don t Beat Yourself Up To go along with Tip 3 don t get too upset with yourself if you fall off track Getting back up is all part of the process and helps you better figure out how to best achieve your goal Hold yourself accountable Give yourself little Rewards The best way to keep yourself on track is to let others know your goals When you have a group of people to cheer you on or a friend to join in your journey it makes staying accountable a whole lot easier It s important to celebrate the little victories on the track to your final goal Giving yourself little rewards throughout your journey will help you look forward to the next one and stay focused on the big picture fourmidable com 07 fourmidable com 06
