JANUARY 2018 The thief s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life John 10 10 IN THIS ISSUE Making the Right Choice By Barbara Whitlock We all know that there is an easy way and a hard way to learn things Fortunately God gave us His Word to help us choose wisely and to turn away from the things that would do us harm We can go about making mistakes or we can trust God and believe what His Word says is true When I became a mother for the first time I did everything in my power to keep my child from harm I would tell him not to touch things that could cause him physical pain like the hot stove or an outlet Yet to my amazement I would catch my son doing that very thing which ended with him screaming and crying out in pain It was only after that experience did he learn his lesson We at times do very much the same thing In Deuteronomy 30 19 it says I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you that I have set before you life and death blessing and cursing therefore choose life that both you and your descendants may live God only wants good things for us and the only way to achieve those good things is to follow His Word We may fail at times but as long as we set our hearts to do what we know is right God will honor that God has a future and a plan for each of us And that future includes life an abundant life full of blessings and love Not a life void of pain or suffering because we know the Bible warns us of such things But it is a life full of His peace His guidance His strength and His commitment to us And all of that is ours when we make a commitment to follow Him Don t be afraid to give your life to Christ If you ve never asked Jesus Christ to come into your life or if you ve never known Him in a personal way then I m asking you to make the right choice and to choose salvation Commit your future and your kid s future to God without reservation Don t learn your lesson the hard way by living a life without God His Word is true and He warns us about the consequences of living a life of sin Give your life to Christ in this new year and years from now when you look back I know you ll see that you made the right choice Spirit Week From dressing like your grandparent to wearing Calvary colors our students had a great time celebrating Spirit Week Cont Page 2 National School Choice Week Our students teachers and staff took time the week of January 21st to be a part of National School Choice Week Cont Page 3
