The foundations purpose is to help prevent, stop, texting and driving. This has been known to be deadly if an accident happens while texting and driving.
There are statistics that show how many people say they don't like texting and driving but still do it.
Stats have shown that 91% of drivers say they disapprove of texting and driving. Yet, 71% of the same group say they also use their smartphones while driving.
This movement started in 2010. The movement became a key point in 2011. Then in 2012, AT&T took the movement to new heights. AT&T displayed graphics and pictures in schools and many more public places. AT&T also looked for new advocates to help spread the word on texting and driving. It now has over 50,000 advocates including AT&Ts biggest rivals such as, T-Mobile, Verizon, and Sprint.
When it started
The mission of this movement to prevent all drivers, mainly young ones, from texting and driving. It also tries to show the consequences of texting and driving by showing that it can cause fatal accidents. You can either hurt the other person or yourself, even both.
AT&T also likes to express, "No life is worth losing over a text message or phone call while driving."
