It Can Wait


It Can Wait is an online campaign, sponsored by AT&T, whose motive is to encourage drivers to stop texting and driving. The campaign originated in 2012 and was started due to their realization of texting and driving having a direct correlation to car accidents.

An astounding 69% of drivers (aged 18-64) in the U.S. admitted to using their cell phone while driving during the previous month

 3,477 people were killed in 2015 from texting and driving.   

660,000 people use their phone while driving during the day.

391,000 people have been injured as a result of texting and driving.

Texting can make vehicle accidents 23 times more likely to happen

11 teenagers die every day because of texting while driving

94% of teen drivers acknowledge the dangers of texting and driving, and 35% admitted to doing it anyway

  • 21% of teen drivers involved in fatal accidents were distracted by their cell phones.
