Through the Lord’s grace, I have inner power and a mind that will move withouthesitation to build, expand, and grow anything for which I am responsible. I alsoknow what it feels like to experience accomplishments as well as fleetingdisappointments mixed in between. If we really think about it, they have all beenmaking us stronger, more resilient, more humble and grateful. For you see, I havealways placed high value and priority on using everything within us as well as thethings that happened to us as building blocks and destiny pathways to becomingour best selves. The account of Philip and the Ethiopian Eunuch in Acts 8 of the Bible has alwaysstruck a chord in me. While I don't know his name, the bible states that he heldenormous influence and authority and was in charge of the queen's coffers. Today,he could be the Chief Financial Officer or Chief Treasury Officer. So, he was a leader,a manager, an executive, and an official, and I assumed he was responsible for a lot. On his way back from an event, he started reading the scriptures. The Lord,knowing this leader's feelings and need for assistance, sent Philip to support,instruct, and interpret the scriptures. When that was successfully achieved, theEthiopian Eunuch's learning and understanding improved, and he realized that heneeded to adjust his perspective and behavior to reflect his new learning andknowledge. He proactively instructed Philip to allow him to be baptized as soon ashe found a chance along the way. I see my best self in this account as I have always lived my life open to being ofservice to others in a way that they feel helped and experience changes for thebetter. The time is right!So, I believe the time is right and it is purposeful for me to come alongsideindividuals, teams and organizations, who need authentic leadership expertise,training and/or coaching for capacity building, personal and performanceimprovement. There are those as well who are on a personal continuing learningjourney through listening to a podcast or attending an event to hear apresentation. Robert Greenleaf, in his book, ‘Servant Leadership, A Journey into the nature oflegitimate power and greatness’ said: “One does not awaken each morning with the compulsion to reinvent the wheel. But if one isservant, either leader or follower, one is always searching, listening, expecting that a betterwheel for these times is in the making. It may emerge any day. Any one of us may find itout from personal experience.”I asked myself the question and now I am asking you. Are you ready to find thebetter wheel?
