Be Vigilant Report Take Action Report Get Notified Make Sure You are Signed Up Any Fires or Smoke You Trees Near Power Lines to Utility Companies for Emergency Alerts SEE to 911 Colorado Natural Gas Emergency You will only receive wildfire emergency evacuation notifications IF you have registered for them in advance To sign up for wildfire emergency notifications go to the website of your local Sheriff Department and look for emergency notifications You will be directed to a page where you can sign up for free You will also be able to sign up for notifications for counties in your surrounding area Clear Creek Park County Use CodeRED for their emergency notifications Register through the Sheriff s Department website and download the CodeRED app for your phone Jefferson County Use LookoutAlert for their emergency notifications Register through the Jeffco Sheriff website download the Smart911 app and Opt In for LookoutAlert on your phone Call 800 883 3181 Seeing Smoke Xcel Energy If you see smoke call 911 immediately and report the location of the smoke Gas Leak Call 911 in emergency or 800 895 2999 to report an outage Electrical Outage Call 800 895 1999 Smelling Smoke CORE Electric Cooperative Call 833 267 3349 to report an outage If you smell smoke go outside and look around your property to determine if you can SEE smoke If you can call 911 If you cannot SEE smoke then monitor your Sheriff and local Fire Department communication channels to see if any fires are reported You can also learn where smoke is coming from at https fire airnow gov Enter your zip code or city and you can see smoke plumes in your area and where they are coming from Remember often winds will bring smoke into your area from outside the area National Fire Smoke Map Information Website https fire airnow gov National Interagency Fire Incident Information Website https inciweb nwcg gov Vegetation Near Power Lines If you have any vegetation that is too close to power lines touches power lines transformers or other electrical equipment it is important that you reach out to your local utility provider Most likely your local utility will mitigate the vegetation free of charge CORE Electric Cooperative Call Customer Service at 800 332 9540 to report any vegetation that touches or is near electrical equipment Report any dead trees completely brown with no leaves or losing needles or trees that appear to have rot and insect damage that are tall enough to hit power lines if they fall Do NOT attempt to trim or clear vegetation near CORE equipment CORE will mitigate free of charge If CORE cuts down a tree it will be the property owner s responsibility to remove the tree once it is on the ground Xcel Energy Make Sure to Sign Up Today Scan this QR code to access digital links for all the important wildfire resources in this brochure Call Customer Service at 800 895 4999 to report any vegetation that touches lines or is near electrical equipment Do NOT attempt to trim or clear vegetation near Xcel equipment Xcel will mitigate free of charge If limbs and brush are pruned by Xcel the brush may be left on your curbside and hauled away by a separate crew within a few days If a tree is cut down by Xcel larger pieces of wood are cut into manageable lengths and left on the homeowner s property
