A MESSAGE FROM OUR CEODA LL AS A RE A RA PE C RI SI S CE NT ER | P AG E 420 24 A NN UA L IM PA CT R EP OR TAmy JonesAmy JonesAt the Dallas Area Rape Crisis Center (DARCC), ourmission is clear: to engage and educate communities toprevent sexual violence and to support survivors as theyheal and thrive. In 2024, we continued this work withfocus and purpose. This year, we launched a brand-new website, designedas a hub of healing and information. Survivors, theirloved ones, and community partners can now moreeasily access the information and resources they needwhen they need them most. It is more than a digitalupdate; it is a reflection of our commitment toempowerment through information. We also expanded the reach of our Survivor Speakers Bureau. When survivors sharetheir stories, they not only reclaim their voices—they help others feel less alone, andthey change hearts and minds. It is one of the most powerful ways we educate andengage the community. Every day, I am humbled by the strength and resilience of the survivors we serve. Theircourage drives our mission forward and reminds us why this work matters so deeply.Behind every story of healing is a team of compassionate counselors, dedicatedadvocates, skilled educators, tireless volunteers, and generous supporters—all workingtogether to create a community where survivors are believed, supported, and neveralone. To our staff, volunteers, donors, friends, and community partners: thank you. Yourbelief in our mission and in the possibility of a world f ree f rom sexual violence fuelseverything we do. Together, we are not only responding to crisis, but we are alsobuilding a more informed and compassionate future.
Strategic PlanOur vision is a world free from sexual violenceMany survivors of sexual violenceexperience serious and lasting mentalhealth symptoms, includingdepression, anxiety, and PTSD.According to RAINN, 94 percent ofvictims report symptoms of PTSD inthe first two weeks after the assault, and many continue to struggle longafter. In Dallas, access to consistent,trauma-informed care is limited, especially for those who do not meetcriteria for inpatient care but needmore than traditional weeklycounseling. In line with DARCC’s 2022 to 2025Strategic Plan goal to elevate andexpand services, we added anIntensive Counselor and a SeniorSurvivor Advocate to our team lastyear. These roles allow us to offermore structured, wraparound supportfor survivors with complex trauma, helping them stay connected to careand rebuild stability in their lives. Thisexpansion is a direct response to agrowing gap in the system. In theyear ahead, we are focused onsustaining and growing this work sothat survivors with the highest needscontinue to have a place to turn.010203Make DARCC oneof the best placesto work & serveExpand externalpartnerships &communityengagement to diversify funding& fortify supportfor DARCCElevate & expandthe servicesprovided byDARCC to be aleading rapecrisis centerDALLAS AREA RAPE CRISIS CENTER | PAGE 52024 ANNUAL IMPACT REPORT
