Stalking the Author EIE Hi Kari Welcome to Stalking the Author K Thank you for having me It s a pleasure to be here EIE I like to start with something simple How about you tell us what you ve written KC My debut novel is Darkness Awakens which is a paranormal thriller I am waiting for Asshole to format so I can get it back out there The series ending will be a slap in the face I have also written erotica A Night at Nyx which will be released later this year When it comes to genre I m all over the board

Stalking the Author EIE I can say I have read the first book in the Darkness Awakens series and thoroughly enjoyed it How much of Darkness Awakens is realistic KC Well now that s a loaded question My husband has a lot of influence My best friend has equal influence That s a story for another day wink In Darkness Awakens Demien is a mix of my husband and my best friend It s all about the look with my husband Demien has that special look in his eyes for Vanessa in which my husband after almost 20 years still has for me The ornery half smile belongs to my husband The musical additions are due to my bf As his fingers pluck the guitar his spirit goes to a magical place that only he knows The reader will see Demien protect Vanessa from harm but at the same time not always be able to keep her away The manner in which they care for me is a mixture of my husband s need to keep me from harm and my bf s way of taking risks but always one step ahead to

Stalking the Author EIE Is there a message you re trying to convey to your audience KC My work leans more toward exciting and dramatic I m one of those readers that if you don t catch me quickly I fall asleep and lose interest When I was writing Darkness Awakens I would run to the library to check out this book that I loved so much I wanted to finish reading it I couldn t remember the ending I said to myself I absolutely need this book This is definitely a must buy book Hint I don t have many must buy books I couldn t remember the name so I searched for keywords After several attempts and getting frustrated that my local library didn t carry it at least I couldn t find it a realization dawned on me I had to finish writing this book so I went back to work on it Having said that I do hint at a lot of phycological underlining foreshadowing so far hidden within the words that it takes the reader many times of rereading to piece it all together My books are an obsession to the reader Many people think Vanessa is a damsel in distress But if you pay attention as you read you begin to realize that there is way more to Vanessa than a mere damsel in distress She will shock the world Hang tight as all will be

Stalking the Author EIE If you had to do it all over again would you change anything about your most recent manuscript KC Of course I originally released A Night at Nyx as a soft launch for beta readers But something was bothering me The book wasn t complete I couldn t get over this feeling so I sat on it for a bit and then pulled it unpublished I didn t feel there was enough something I sat on it and sat on it asking my beta readers what they thought I gained a new friend and she offered to read it I told her what I thought was missing and she loved the idea As I simmered on it I figured out exactly what I needed I let my new friend help me create the missing piece a new character This sexy and exciting multigenre erotica will be released in 2021 with the added character more sexy scenes and so much more psychologically thrilling

Stalking the Author EIE Authors are constantly learning and improving their craft What did you learn while writing DA KC I ve learned so much from my first book and I keep learning with every book If you re not learning you re not growing One thing I have learnt is that not everyone is cut out to be an author I know with the ease of self publishing every Tom Dick and Harry thinks they can be an author too but fuck people You can put words on the screen yes but building characters story lines plot and covering the plot holes is a talent After reading the shit I ve read not everyone has that talent Sadly they think they do I could point to a few examples but apparently that s a Dickhead move to do Admittedly my fans must be patient I don t produce crap in a hurry I take my time writing

Stalking the Author EIE Awesome Do you have any advice for aspiring writers KC Your book will never be perfect Do the best you can get really great editors well worth the investment listen to those editors fix the issues and move the hell on EIE Yes edits are very important From a reader s perspective the use and knowing the difference between There They re and Their can make or break the rhythm of any story Is there anything specific you would like to tell your readers KC I work hard to write good books and make the storelines layered and interactive The more you read the more secrets and clues you reveal but the reader must pay attention My books never have an expected ending I always push the envelope

Stalking the Author EIE Imagine a future where you never put down a single word What do you envision you would be doing KC My life is too busy to write already as I enjoy being amidst a street race as I fuck the driver EIE Okay moving along KC What You ve never fucked behind the wheel shoulder shrug EIE Wait wasn t that in N N KC In fact it was EIE So does that mean the scene is a real life experience KC I would never kiss and tell EIE Hmmm I think I need to read that scene again NO other than the kids and activities add something else Do what the questions ask IMAGINE and alternate reality This is where you can show readers how creative you can be

Stalking the Author EIE Do you enjoy TV shows or Movies What are some you re currently binge watching or obsessed with KC I have to give it to Schitts Creek because it had me laughing so hard I fell off my bed I was a fan before it was cool I love documentaries about history not world wars history mysteries murders and science I ve watched a documentary on Netflix about people who believe the Earth is flat FlatEarthers or something like that Can you even imagine going backwards in thinking and advancement Apparently NASA is lying about the shape of the Earth I found it particularly hilarious when the experiments they did to prove the Earth is flat proved the exact opposite and still they were not convinced They were going to try to experiment again but the new experiment wasn t covered in the documentary therefore I didn t get to see the groundbreaking results Inquiring minds must know
