1Welcome to the IJM Sisterhood!International Junior Miss has been organized to encourage positive achievement by helping to develop and strengthen self-awareness in our youth and young women of today.IJM awards scholarships to individuals on the basis of achievement throughout the week of competition and service throughout the year as an International titleholder.Scholarships are awarded at Internationals for each division winner and the top five finalists. Additional scholarships are provided for excellence in talent, modeling, public speaking, and other optional categories along with Academic Achievement and The iam Brand Ambassador Award. These additional scholarship opportunities will allow International Junior Miss to award over $100,000 in cash scholarships at this year’s International Finals. All scholarships are determined by the number of delegates in each divisionThe International Junior Miss Program is designed to give each delegate and her family memories that they can cherish for the rest of their lives. Our schedule includes time for family, meeting new people, and evening delegate activities. We encourage a healthy lifestyle, but no swimsuit competition is required for the IJM Competition. Delegates will compete in three areas of competition. The Interview Competition allows each judge to have a conversation with each delegate and get to know them a little better, The Evening Gown Competition keeps in tradition with pageantry’s grace, poise and stage presentation. The Fun Fashion competition gives each delegate a chance to express her personal sense of style and fashion. We are pleased to have crowned 6 dynamic young women at our last competition. The current titleholders are Jacelynn Richard, International Junior Miss Princess, representing the Lone Star State; Resegofetse Mothupi, International Junior Miss Jr. Pre-Teen, of South Africa; Bailey Sheridan, International Junior Miss Pre-Teen of Florida; Mia Vanessa Prom, International Junior Miss Jr. Teen of the Republic of the Philippines; Jordenn Thompson, International Junior Miss Teen, of California; and Faith Pierrecharles, International Junior Miss, of Haiti. The 2023 International Junior Miss Pageant will be held November 17th-November 26th, 2023 at the Hyatt Regency Orlando in Orlando, Florida. 11Version 5 Updated Sept. 7, 2023What is expected of the newInternational Royalty? The International Royalty will have the opportunity to become a part of an amazing sisterhood. Each International Queen will be invited to attend state & national pageants around the world as well as the opportunity to use her International title as a vehicle to become more involved in her community. As the International Junior Miss Pageant System grows, so do the duties and responsibilities of the International Royalty. The International Junior Miss Pageant holds its titleholders to the highest standards. If selected as an International Pageant Titleholder, the International Junior Miss title should always come before any other extra-curriculars. The best Sportsmanship is always required at our competition as well as any other competitions that you may decide to enter. Unsportsmanlike conduct is always grounds for loss of title and prizes. What can the International Royalty look forward to during their year of service? International Pageant winners will receive their cash awards at crowning. International Junior Miss titleholders’ cash scholarships are guaranteed as outlined in the section International SCHOLARSHIP FUND that can be found on the next page. Newly crowned International Royalty must attend the mandatory meeting, sign the IJM International Royalty Code of Conduct and be present for the first official photo session on Sunday, November 26, 2023. International titleholders must make a minimum of twelve appearances throughout the year and must be present at Official International Junior Miss International Royalty key events.International Royalty: We support our queens in their quest for other titles and awards however, we discourage participating in any programs that will conflict with fulfilling their obligation to compete at the International Pageant. We will not grant permission to participate in any national level pageant, or any pageant and/or program that will conflict with participating in the 2023 International Finals or serving as a conflict of interest once the delegate is crowned at the 2023 International Finals. International Royalty will be required to return any cash awards and prizes to their state/national directors if they do not attend the International Pageant.

13Version 5 Updated Sept. 7, 2023Pageant Competitions & Judging CriteriaThe Interview Competition is a great time to let the judges know just why they should pick you as an IJM International Queen. Our judges are warm and friendly. They like to see a kid being a kid, and a teen who enjoys being a teenager. Miss delegates will have the opportunity to speak a little bit more about their plans for the future. All questions will be age-appropriate. There will be no political, religious, or ‘textbook’ questions. The judges simply want to know who you are! IJM prides itself on being fashion-forward. Your interview attire should reflect that. You are interviewing for the job of International Titleholder. Dresses, jumpsuits, and two-piece ensembles are all acceptable. We want to see your personality reflected in your interview attire. We are not looking for corporate-type suits. The photo on the right provides examples of the sort of attire appropriate for this area of competition. You will need to be in line at least 15 minutes prior to your group’s scheduled interview. INTERVIEWFUN FASHIONEach delegate will model an outfit of her own choosing. It must be age appropriate and it should portray the delegate’s personal sense of style and fashion. This outfit should be fun! It can be as simple or ornate as you would like. No denim attire, please. You may accessorize as you like, but no props such as umbrellas, purses or bags will be allowed on stage. Each Required Competition counts for 1/3 of your preliminary total score.

Page 19

14Version 5 Updated Sept. 7, 2023All delegates must wear a floor length gown that is age appropriate for the Evening Gown competition. Remember, fit and style are very important in this competition. We suggest taking time to get your garments tailored by a professional seamstress to fit your body. Following trends are great, but make sure that you select a dress style that compliments your particular body type. Delegates are judged on grace, poise, and elegance during their presentation.EVENING GOWNCompetition & JudgingThe International Pageant consists of three preliminary competitions: Interview, Fun Fashion & Evening Gown Competition. Each competition counts as one-third of your total preliminary score. The panel of judges will give a score ranging from 1-9 points in each preliminary category which will determine the top semi-finalists in each division. During finals, the top semi-finalists will receive an additional 1-9 points for fun fashion which will be added to their overall preliminary score. At that time, the semi-finalists with the top 5 highest combined scores will receive an additional 1-9 points for evening gown which will be added to their overall preliminary score and final night fun fashion score. The total of preliminary scores and final night scores will determine the final placement for the overall top 5. The judges will have the final vote and preliminary scores will assist to break all ties.HAIR & MAKEUP PROGRAM STANDARDS: Princess and Jr. Pre-Teens are not allowed to wear makeup during the interview competition. Pre-Teens may wear natural makeup for interview, such as light powder and lip gloss. All Junior Divisions (Princess, Jr. Pre-Teen, and Pre-Teen) are allowed to wear makeup during onstage competitions. This makeup should be natural and age-appropriate, meant to only pop the contestant’s features under the bright stage lighting. Heavy contouring and excessive eye makeup are never appropriate for our Junior Divisions here at International Junior Miss. Contestants are also not permitted to wear fake lashes in the Junior Divisions. There will be someone specifically monitoring adherence to these makeup guidelines as the girls take the stage, and a one-point deduction per event will be made accordingly. Age-appropriate makeup is permitted for all of our Senior Divisions (Jr. Teen. Teen, and Miss). Keep your eye on IJMinternationals.com for further hair and makeup guidance as the pageant draws closer.Optional Category Competitions Optional competitions are an additional opportunity for delegates to express their style, skills, and talents on our beautiful International stage. Optional competitions are judged by a separate panel of judges and do not impact the selection of our new International Royalty. The following pages have additional information about the optional categories that are available to enter.

She will receive the grand prize, including the Ofcial International Casual Wear ModelingSM Crown, Banner, Custom Award, $250 Gift Certicate to Shop Lisa Dean, and a guaranteed $800 Cash Scholarship.Wow! The Casual Wear Modeling ContestSM has the excitement and energy of a live fashion show. It’s YOUR turn to walk the runway, as you model your outt and wow the audience with your own personal style! Should you choose to participate in casual wear, this will allow you to hit the stage and get any kinks out before the main competition.Attire: In this event, you will model age-appropriate attire that has an upbeat, fashionable look. Shorts, pants, rompers, skirts, trendy jeans, and dresses are some examples of clothing you may wear for this event. Your outt can have a theme: back-to-school, sports-related, or other themed outts. This is a Casual Wear contest, not a Formal Wear competition. Sequins, rhinestones, and beads are ne if used in a way you would normally see them on trendy, off-the-rack apparel, just don’t make them the centerpiece of your outt. Makeup: Age-appropriate makeup may be worn by our Senior Division (Jr. Teen, Teen, and Miss) delegates. All Junior Divisions (Princess, Jr. Pre-Teen, and Pre-Teen) are allowed to wear makeup during this optional competition if they would like to. This makeup should be natural and age-appropriate, meant to only pop the contestant’s features under the bright stage lighting. Heavy contouring and excessive eye makeup are not appropriate for our Junior Divisions during any event. Contestants are also not permitted to wear fake lashes in the Junior Divisions during any event.Rules: This is a lively and fun event! The attire you choose should show your creativity and reect your personality and age. This is a free-style modeling event with upbeat music, as you would see at a fashion show. The feel is positive, not pouty or demure. It’s great to show your unique personality. No tumbling, gymnastics, acrobatics, re, or live animals can be included in your Casual Wear routine. While props are allowed, they need to be modeled as accessories to the overall outt theme. Custom-designed, glitzy modeling outts can be over the top and are not appropriate for this contest. Swimsuits are not allowed. Keep in mind that the “setting” for this contest is an upscale department store fashion show. The pageant emcee will narrate as you perform your routine. You will have approximately 30 seconds to model your fashionable ensemble. Music: The pageant will provide upbeat music with a fun, steady beat for your freestyle walk on the runway. You will not be permitted to provide your own music. The Pageant DJ will operate the sound levels, and the narration will be provided by the pageant emcee. Time Limit: You will have approximately 30 seconds to model your fashionable ensemble. Just as you would at a fashion show, follow the lead of the emcee as she introduces you, features your outt, and then closes the presentation. Format: Use freestyle modeling with turns and walks to reect your own personal style. At the end of your routine, you will exit the side of the stage. You will be shown where to enter and exit the stage before your contest begins. You Bring: You will bring the outt of your choice. Also, bring the Casual Wear ModelingSM Card that you will receive prior to Pageant Check-In. The card will be used by the emcee for narration. It will have spaces on it for you to list your interests and activities, as well as a place to briey describe the outt you are wearing. Please be aware the pageant emcee will not read verbatim from the card. Pageant Furnishes: Stage, emcee, and music.Version 5 Updated Sept. 7, 2023

At the Red Carpet Awards Ceremony, The iam POWERHOUSESM will announce the 4 runners-up and winner among the NAM State Queens, the 4 runners-up and winner among the AA City Queens, and the 4 runners-up and winner among the IJM Delegates. Your contestant number will be announced; then, you will take the runway and perform a choreographed routine given to you prior to the competition. Attire: One of the most exciting parts about the Runway Model SearchSM is that you get to model the outt of your choice! This is your chance to pick the outt that you have dreamed of wearing, as you take to the runway. This should be a fun, fashionable outt that you want to sell to the judges and audience. Your outt can be a cocktail dress, a stylish high-low, or even a fashionable romper. Make sure that your outt is trendy but also age-appropriate. Try to stay away from a themed outt. Something to keep in mind is that the scouts are evaluating each candidate for real-world modeling opportunities. They want to be able to see what you can do, in an authentic setting, to model clothing; this is not about the clothing modeling you. Accessories such as jackets, hats, headbands, and scarves are permitted, but avoid sporty-themed looks. Your look should be trendy, fun and fashion-forward. Contestants are also not permitted to wear fake lashes in the Junior Divisions during any event.Rules: No swimsuits are allowed. Full-length evening dresses or gowns are allowed. No props are permitted on stage at any time. No matter which age division you are in, be sure that you wear shoes you can safely and condently walk in. Practice walking in your shoes at home. Tips: Princess, Jr. Pre-Teen, and Pre-Teen: Your look of choice can be a party dress, cocktail dress, or even a one-piece romper. Again, you want to keep this age-appropriate. A Sunday dress or a fun petti skirt would be great for this contest. No bare midriffs are allowed. Stay away from platform shoes that are hard to walk in. Tips: Jr. Teen, Teen, and Miss: Your runway outt can be a cocktail dress, a fabulous after-5 look, or anything age-appropriate that you want to show off. Bare midriffs are allowed but should also be age-appropriate and tasteful. Make sure you are comfortable in your shoes.Version 5 Updated Sept. 7, 2023

Version 5 Updated Sept. 7, 2023All delegates are allowed to have one female parent/guest to serve as their dressing room assistant during wardrobe changes. Once wardrobe changes are completed, all dressing room assistants will be asked to leave the dressing rooms. Each backstage assistant must have a dressing room wrist band. At no time will a dressing room assistant be allowed to stand at stage level or in the wings. Any backstage assistant that does not follow the rules will be asked to leave the dressing room area and return to their seats immediately. It is our suggestion that you choose simple, elegant hairstyles and outfits that are easy to get into and out of quickly. It is very important that all delegates, family members, and friends at the pageant remember that good Sportsmanship is a must. Parents, YOU set the example. Only one delegate in each division will be named the winner. Only a few delegates will win special awards or be finalists. However, each delegate will bring to the pageant her own special flair. These delegates are presenting themselves and performing in front of judges and a live audience. It takes unique and special young ladies to handle those duties. This is why we believe that every delegate is a winner. You and your family should feel proud of this achievement and the special recognition of representing your state, region or country. Delegates, parents, and guests displaying poor Sportsmanship will be asked to leave the pageant without the benefit of a refund of any kind, will not be invited back to the pageant and will forfeit any prizes or gifts awarded. DRESSING ROOM POLICYEach year, IJM reserves space on behalf of Hair and Makeup Teams that are attending IJM to provide hair and makeup services to our delegates. Our official Hair & Makeup Team for International Junior Miss is Makeup by MasKara. As our official HMUA, Kara and her team will have a space near to the event stages. She is our official artist used during the winner’s official photo shoots. You can learn more about Kara and her team on Instagram:@MakeupByMasKaraWe also highly recommend our two other official POWERHOUSE Hair & Makeup Teams: Emerie Jones Artistry (@EmerieJones) and Sammie Paige Artistry (@SammiePaige_Artistry). These teams will also have exclusive work spaces located in the same area where all of our pageant events will be held.SPORTSMANSHIPHAIR AND MAKEUP TEAMSImportant Info49Relax and enjoy the show! The pageant will be recorded by the official video production team Video Memories. You may order your videos at www.pageantvideophoto.com now or at the Video Memories sales table during pageant week. You will receive more information regarding your video prior to the pageant. Recording is not allowed during the Pageant Finale.COMPETITION PHOTO AND VIDEO PACKAGES:
