Components of the ProgramIHL and Campaign Building TrainingA volunteer coordinator takes youth teams through an interactive training that explores IHL topics and learn how to design an effective awareness campaign.Implement a Campaign on the ThemeYouth teams plan and execute their own creative and unique social media and in-person educational activities to promote awareness about the IHL theme. Advocates in the past have educated their peers through creating videos, scavenger hunts, board games, presentations and more.Summit in Washington, D.C.Each year, a selected number of outstanding advocates are invited to Washington, D.C. on a fully-funded trip that develops their personal skills, grows their network, and expands their knowledge of IHL.The IHL Youth Action CampaignThe IHL Youth Action Campaign is an American Red Cross program that encourages youth and young adult teams, aged 13-24, to learn about IHL and empower them to explore these laws through peer-to-peer campaigns.About IHLInternational humanitarian law is the body of law that seeks to protect people and places in armed conict by regulating the weapons and tactics in war.
