March 2025 ignites a celebration of Women's History Month, a momentto include a salute to the fearless women who’ve stormed thefrontlines of America’s armed forces. This year’s theme, "MovingForward Together," pulses with the grit, unity, and unstoppable drivethat define these trailblazers. Picture this: from the musket smoke ofthe Revolutionary War to the drone-filled skies of modern conflicts, women—including Indiana’s own—have charged into battle to defendthe Articles of Confederation and the U.S. Constitution.Hoosier heroines gave their all serving during the war on terror, withthree paying the ultimate price: Marine Sgt. Jeannette Winters, AirForce Senior Airman Ashton L.M, and Navy Seaman Apprentice ShaynaA. Schnell. These women did not let anything get in their way tohonorably defend our country and gave everything for the freedomswe enjoy today. 317.232.3910 outreach@dva.in.govwww.in.gov/dvaHOOSIER VETERANWomen's History MonthBy Laura Mckee
