Tonight s Competitors Expansion is the premier all male a cappella group from Christopher Newport University in Newport News Virginia These 16 best friends form a strong presence in their arts community encouraging more young men to sing Though they often compete locally Expansion is thrilled to be competing in its second ICCA The RoaNotes of Roanoke College come all the way from Salem Va This group is the only co ed a cappella group at their school and considers itself a crazy little family The RoaNotes is a band of misfits who came together from the far reaches of their small campus and share a love of music and singing They are the underdogs who want to shock the world with their funk sex appeal and passion for music Vibrancy in music zeal for life and passion for sharing a journey that is what Belmont University s premier co ed a cappella group The Beltones hopes to convey with every performance Centered in Nashville Tenn the 17 member group has achieved much in its seven years Tonight The Beltones hope to do more than just sing notes on a page but also to show all the passion and joy that music has to offer They could not be more grateful to be performing alongside so many talented groups and send their love to all who have supported them over the years Hailing from Harrisonburg Va The BluesTones is an award winning all female a cappella group from James Madison University Founded in 1999 these girls have been melting faces ever since The BluesTones pride

themselves on a signature soulful sound and have recently taken home awards including Best Collegiate Female Soloist and Best Collegiate Female Album At a glance they might just look like a group of girls who can rock the color blue but that s not all They look pretty good in black too As The University of North Carolina at Greensboro s premier all female a cappella group The Sapphires have been working hard at female empowerment for fifteen years They ve performed all over the country making it to the ICCA Semifinals in both 2009 and 2015 They are a hard working group of individuals who believe women can and will take over the world one day and that music is the key They are the embodiment of WOMAN Where Originality Makes A cappella New VOLT is the University of Tennessee s premier co ed a cappella group Created in fall 2015 many of VOLT s members have never sung a cappella music before this year Full of new fresh performers they are ready to share their newfound aca sound with you Enjoy and Go Vols Stationed in Good Ol Rocky Top the orange and white Stallions of VOLume from the University of Tennessee are back and proud to be making their third ICCA appearance It s crazy to believe it started eight years ago in some crappy Alumni Hall basement with no windows or A C but they ve made it here and credit their wonderful fans for supporting them along the way Here s to ya ll Now sit back and let VOLume teach you how to sway to the rhythm of love

Tonight s Judges Derrick Everhart is thrilled to be a part of the ICCA South Quarterfinal Competition Derrick is currently the music associate and organist at Abernethy United Methodist Church in Asheville N C where he has over 15 years of church music experience as a choirmaster vocalist and organist Derrick is passionate about choral music and performed with the university chamber singers and college choir at Mars Hill College graduating in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts in church music and organ performance Derrick has performed with the Asheville Symphony Chorus Foothills Festival Singers and is a board member and participant of the Asheville Community Band Derrick has worked with high and middle school choirs throughout western North Carolina as a clinician and accompanist Professional organizations include The American Guild of Organists American Guild of English Handbell Ringers and the American Choral Directors Association Born and raised in Asheville N C Sarah Fowler is honored to once again judge for the ICCA South Quarterfinal competition She is the Director of Music Ministries at the First Presbyterian Church in Weaverville N C where she directs the chancel handbell and youth choirs as well as the orchestra She is the founder of the Multiplicity Music Studio where she maintains a full piano and voice studio Heavily involved with musical theatre she performs regularly with the Asheville Community Theatre and the Haywood Arts Regional Theatre as both a music director and pianist Sarah works with choirs and high school theatre programs throughout Western North Carolina as an accompanist and vocal coach She has

performed multiple times at the North Carolina Music Educators Conference as well as with the United States Army Field Band and the Asheville Lyric Opera This spring she will perform at Carnegie Hall Professional organizations include Sigma Alpha Iota International Music Fraternity National Society of Leadership and Success Music Educators National Conference American Choral Directors Association Handbell Musicians of America and the Contemporary A Cappella Society Sarah resides in Asheville with her dogs Layla Belle and Abby Rhode Stephen Hutchings is a faculty member and graduate assistant at Georgia College in Milledgeville Ga and director of the official GC co ed contemporary a cappella group The Cat s Meow He holds a Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Georgia and Master of Music Education from Georgia College As a graduate assistant Stephen works in the College of Education on an elementary extra curricular arts and literacy team and he is currently working on a second master s degree in Instructional Technology As an undergraduate Stephen was a member of the co ed group With Someone Else s Money from 2007 2009 and the all male group The Accidentals from 2009 2012 While a member of With Someone Else s Money he had the pleasure of recording with Ben Folds in his historic RCA Studio A recording studio and being a featured group on the Ben Folds Presents University A Cappella album During his three years in The Accidentals the group advanced to ICCA Finals twice and released the critically acclaimed CD A Gentleman s Game Stephen was music director of The Accidentals from 2010 2012 and served as the group s primary arranger during that span He has arranged over
