Tonight s Competitors The University of Georgia Accidentals had its genesis back in 1974 when UGA Men s Glee Club director Coach decided to liven up concerts by having a feature quartet Over time four members became eight and eight became 13 in a process known as mitosis Ever since these southern gentlemen have been known for their charm dress and singing ability The Dentals an energy and life to their performances that is unique in the collegiate a cappella realm and couldn t be happier to present this year s set Sympathetic Vibrations is Georgia Tech s premier allmale a cappella group Founded in 1997 SympVibes has been famous for making fans swoon across Atlanta for nearly 20 years When they re not performing on campus at weddings and for philanthropic events the members of SympVibes can often be found on the basketball court The newest generation of Sympathetic Vibrations brings a distinct new sound and energy are and they re excited to share their gift with the broader a cappella community Founded in 1994 Aural Pleasure is Emory University s oldest co ed a cappella group on campus This is NOT your mother s glee club AP brings intense energy to its performances and an edge to its arrangements sound and style You won t find any Doo Wops in AP s songs and that s just the way they like it The Bearitones hail from Mercer University in Macon Ga This is their first year of performing and competing but they have plenty of heart determination and passion for

music These members have a variety of backgrounds and interests which gives the group its own unique character While The Bearitones prioritize the music other major emphases include teamwork and creativity Even though the group is young The Bearitones are ready to show the South what the Orange and Black are all about Kennesaw State A Cappella was founded just two years ago on the large campus of Kennesaw State University This group is composed of mostly freshman so it is the first time performing for many of its members With a variety of vocal ranges outside the box beatboxing impressive and head turning choreography and complex musical arrangements they got the chance to sing at Atlanta s Advanced Screening for the world premiere of Pitch Perfect Two and have continued to make a name for themselves ever since The Carolina Gentlemen is the only all male a cappella group at the University of South Carolina Based in Columbia they rarely perform without their seersucker pants and bow ties They look forward to bringing that southern charm to the ICCA stage Alcoholic No Intoxicating Very The Cocktails is the University of South Carolina s premier all female a cappella group They are extremely proud to represent the power of the female voice through a variety of music from pop girlpower ballads to classic 80 s rock A group of best friends The Cocktails strive to channel their passion for a cappella while still having the time of their lives After recording their album On the Rocks last spring The Cocktails are ready for one of their favorite parts of being in the group ICCA

Cockappella is the premier co ed a cappella group at the University of South Carolina With members from various fields of study differing musical backgrounds and a colorful array of personality types Cockappella brings a unique breath of fresh air to USC s campus and to the ICCA stage The students in Cockappella find wild joy in every stage of the rehearsal process forming close friendships along the way They ve traveled around the country together bringing musical light to museums restaurants and auditoriums The group s unofficial mission statement is to take music but not themselves seriously In doing so the group transforms its collective passion for music into energetic captivating performances The Bell Tower Boys is the premier all male a cappella group from Furman University Named after the iconic bell tower on Furman s lake they are excited for their first evercompetition After a successful tour of the Southeast last year and a new album recording this past January The Bell Tower Boys are excited to compete against some of the top college a cappella groups in the nation They are proud to represent Furman and look forward to entering the a cappella scene on the national level Since the dawn of 2013 Vanderbilt University s finest have graced the stage with catchy melodies tight harmonies and sick beats They have twice shone in the ICCA spotlight and twice returned home to Nashville hungry for more Riding and rearing for their shot at a cappella glory these 13 talented and vivacious individuals are here tonight to make you laugh and cry to inspire and to stun Rest assured that they will give you the show of the century Are you ready Athens Harmonic Notion is here

Vital Signs is a co ed a cappella group from Elon University performing in its first ever ICCA competition Established about six years ago the group prides itself on bringing together people of varying majors interests and musical backgrounds to create and execute daring and original arrangements They d like to say break a leg to all of the groups participating Tonight s Judges Guang Ming Whitley is a founding member and former music director of The USC Sirens and restarted and directed The Scales of Justice at the University of Chicago Law School She is the Chief Operating Officer of the Whitley Household and writes books on the side Guang Ming taught at the University of Chicago practiced intellectual property law in Los Angeles and then retired to care for her four children ages 7 5 a set of 4 year old feral twin boys who are feral In 2015 her family relocated to Charleston S C Guang Ming has judged the ICCA and SoJam and has spoken at SoJam and has been both a nominator and judge for the Contemporary A Cappella Recording Awards CARAs With The Sirens she has had featured solos and arrangements on three straight BOCA compilations and has won CARAs for her songs and arrangements Guang Ming is a writer for the Recorded A Cappella Review Board RARB and was awarded a Varsity Vocals scholarship in 2002 for her contributions to collegiate a cappella A native of Lancaster Penn Kelly Rhyne has worked as a singer flautist stage manager teacher actor and director for more than 15 years She attended

Pennsylvania Governor s School for the Arts in Erie and graduated from Interlochen Arts Academy in Michigan where she studied vocal performance She later moved to Chicago Ill where she received her BFA in musical theatre from Columbia College Chicago After graduation she moved to Orlando Fla where she worked as a professional performer for Walt Disney World and Sea World Orlando in addition to teaching at various studios and camps in the area Favorite roles include Mayzie in Seussical and Cassie in A Chorus Line Brad Maffett is the assistant conductor of the Athens Symphony He performed with the Athens Symphony Chorus and continues to serve as a rehearsal assistant Brad conducts band and choir at Franklin County Middle School and has conducted Musica Fraterna of the Atlanta Children s Choir Local Vocals and B Natural From serving as a singing waiter to playing tuba in a polka band Brad has dabbled in all aspects of music When not making music he can be found cooking barbecue in competitions throughout the Southeast Amber Sembley has studied music since high school beginning with classical voice and music theory At Duke University she sang lead vocals in jazz ensemble directed the gospel choir and participated in numerous stage musicals including RENT Chess and Aida She continued her musical studies with a minor in music history and a few semesters of vocal lessons Her most rewarding involvement however was with Rhythm Blue where Amber spent two years as music director and led the group to victory in SoJam s scholastic competition in 2011 plus a personal award for Best Soloist Alone Since college
