Tonight s Competitors Duly Noted was founded in October of 2012 becoming UC San Diego s seventh a cappella group This co ed ensemble is currently composed of 14 members including five of its original founders After three years of performing at benefit concerts campus activities community service events and quarterly concerts they are excited to take the ICCA stage for the first time Proud Distinguished Elite These words have absolutely nothing to do with the Mt San Antonio College group Fermata Nowhere Instead consider words like distracted frolicking ravenous and devastatingly handsome After donning their trademark jumpsuits in 2003 they made their first trip from Walnut California to ICCA Finals in the Spring of 2004 taking 2nd place In 2009 they made a return trip this time becoming the first community college to win the National Championship Fermata Nowhere would like to thank everyone for coming tonight and especially their friends family and psychotic exes for their continued support CatCall is the first a cappella ensemble from University of Arizona Coming all the way from Tucson this all male group is excited to sing to you some music they re sure you ll enjoy Don t be fooled their vests and ties may say classy and professional but their performances say entertaining and loads of fun This group is more than just a group of singers these guys share a passion and brotherhood that brings them together to do what they love They hope you enjoy all they ve been working on

Enharmonics A Cappella is an all female group from the University of Arizona Founded in 2014 in Tucson Arizona Enharmonics is a student led group with a variety of majors ranging from vocal performance to aerospace engineering Enharmonics performs pop and jazz music from the mid20th century to present day and all pieces are arranged by current members of the group They have sung for a wide variety of events including the El Tour de Tucson Dedication Dinner for Gabrielle Giffords the U of A s KAMP Radio The Tucson 49ers Club Arizona A Cappella Festival and more The After School Specials is a student run a cappella group composed of various students from the Claremont Colleges The members are as diverse as the music they sing from all corners of the country and world they major in fields spanning from the sciences to the humanities With original arrangements and an expansive range of music the group believes in creating a space for passionate individuals that with a common love for making music regardless of their backgrounds The ChapTones is Chapman University s newest co ed a cappella group based in Orange California Now in their second year the group has developed a dynamic sound that makes for a fun and engaging set list This is their first year participating in the ICCA and they are proud to make their competitive debut SoundCheck is Chapman University s premier co ed a cappella group Founded in 2007 as a small vocal jazz group SoundCheck has grown into an award winning group in contemporary a cappella SoundCheck placed

Bowl and the ICCA Finals in New York City She is an English teacher vocal coach for Calabasas High School groups Unstrumental and Bare Rhythm and counselor and instructor at A Cappella Academy Originally from Austin Texas Rene Ruiz is the founder and director of the Off Broadway a cappella concept show TOXIC AUDIO which won the 2004 Drama Desk Award for Unique Theatrical Experience He has performed and directed the show in New York Las Vegas and Japan He travels the world as an emcee director clinician voiceover actor and audiobook narrator He has created vocal groups for Walt Disney World Hershey ParkPennsylvania Kennywood and Six Flags New England He served for over 15 years as a performer announcer and show director for the Walt Disney World Company Holding a master s degree in voice from the California Institute of the Arts Jim Raycroft has performed all over North America and in Europe He is a 30 year member of the Los Angeles Master Chorale and sang with the Los Angeles Opera for 12 years He has also appeared in the soundtracks for numerous movies including Home Alone Jurassic Park A I Mars Attacks Waterworld XXX Lady In The Water and Godzilla and appeared as a singing pirate in the opening scene of Pirates of the Caribbean At World s End He has appeared on the Grammys in numerous TV shows and has sung for the President of the United States and the Queen of England He founded and sings with the vocal jazz group Pacific Swingline and the barbershop quartet The Nickelodeon He founded The Singers Elite Vocal Big Band sang with the Los Angeles Lawyers Philharmonic Orchestra and Chorus

music director for the San Fernando Valley Youth Chorus and music director at First United Methodist Church of Redondo Beach His singer referral service Singers Elite has provided vocal entertainment of all kinds to Southern California audiences for more than 25 years and he founded and produces the annual Choral Taste of Los Angeles a reading session of choral music by local composers Born and bred in Los Angeles James Harper is an accomplished composer and arranger His arranging credits include national television ads including a Macy s campaign with Pentatonix and a Grammy nominated Bob Dylan project At UCLA he was a member of the awardwinning a cappella group The ScatterTones helping the group finish 2nd at ICCA Finals During his tenure he helped produce two CARA nominated albums and was nominated for Best Mixed Collegiate Arrangement He has won several Outstanding Arrangement and Outstanding Soloist awards at ICCA and the Los Angeles A Cappella Festival In addition to confusing everyone he knows with a name switch from DJ he is currently working on an extended project at Capitol Records and playing shows throughout L A Bobby Halvorson is a Doctor of Musical Arts with a degree from California Institute of the Arts in performancecomposition in May 2013 Emphases include extended vocal technique contemporary concert music orchestral and chamber music folk music pop music and country music Bobby Halvorson arranges music for ensembles with a distinct strength in vocal arranging and vocal harmony He directs the contemporary vocal ensemble at

California Institute of the Arts and the Santa Clarita Men of Harmony Barbershop Chorus He teaches undergraduate tonal music theory songwriting forum a composition course on techniques used in composing for voice composition theory and voice lessons Stacy Burcham entered USC in 1995 on a trumpet scholarship In 1996 she was one of the founding members of The SoCal VoCals She served as musical director and producer on several CARA nominated VoCal albums and has received the ICCA Best Arrangement award every year an arrangement of hers has been entered After graduating in 2000 Stacy s arrangement of the national anthem has been featured at Clippers Lakers and Kings home games and the 2008 Democratic National Debate As a vocalist she has performed at the Hollywood Bowl and The Greek Theater and has sung backup for Roger Daltry and Kristin Chenoweth As a trumpet euphonium and alto sax player she was featured on projects by Molly Bryant and Justin Miner and the soundtrack for the video game The Legend of Spyro The Eternal Night She is thrilled to help judge this year Visit her at www stacyburcham com Guest performances by The Claremont Shades is the first co ed a cappella group at The Claremont Colleges established in 1995 They have been featured on two BOCA albums 2000 2005 and have released five albums of their own The Shades also host the annual SCAMFest where a cappella groups from all over the country are invited to show off their mindblowing vocal talents
