For his most sought after series, Jensen-Nagle has travelled to over 20 countries and 5 continents capturing dreamy beachscapes from high above, often hanging out of he-licopters for his birds-eye views. The work shows people as colorful specks clustered on sun-soaked stretches of sand, with expansive green or blue masses of water lling the compositions like abstract elements. His immersive, cinematic photos invite viewers to lose themselves in the image, sparking associations that might resemble the artist’s own memories of a “childhood spent on the shore of Mantoloking, New Jersey …memories of never-ending days basking in the sun, oating in the water, surng with his dad and jumping waves.” Viewing photog-raphy as a means to evoke emotion, the images are not to be interpreted as documentation of these people or places, but rather are intended to stimulate the viewer’s reection of their own experiences, dreams and memo-ries, bringing them into the work. Jensen-Nagle’s Beach Elements series is a departure from his better known beachscapes. This body of work deconstructs the sun-soaked scenes and focuses on individual elements that often make up his colorful compositions. The series is comprised of three main collections. Playfully patterned beach umbrellas are photographed from an aerial perspective, while multicolored beach huts, known as bathing boxes are individually photographed along Brighton Beach in Melbourne, Australia. All elements are digitally removed from their environment and placed against white backgrounds for a brighter, more graphic direction. This series also includes a collection of modern sculptures featuring silhouettes of beach goers and beach accessories originally photographed by the artist and reimagined into free-standing metal fabrications. The sculptures in this series are made of stainless steel and aluminum and are nished with pearlized automotive paint that withstands exterior weather. The artist is open to collaborating with clients on larger scaled-sculptures and commissioned public art placements.Beach ElementsBathing Box 46 20” x 20” | 36” x 36” | 43” x 43” | 58” x 58”Color Wheel Beach Umbrella 20” x 20” | 36” x 36” | 43” x 43” | 58” x 58”

To create this body of work, Jensen-Nagle captures inspirational sunsets, prints them large-scale in his Toronto studio, and then re-photographs them outside, setting off reworks in their foreground, ultimately accomplishing a celebratory effect with explosive colour palettes, breath-taking compositions and quiet moments of underlying reection. He states, “Nostalgia has remained a consistent theme in my work. Rather than simply documenting reality, I strive to capture a feeling. With this series, I found myself reecting on impressionable moments in my life; the ritual of watching the sunset each evening and lighting off reworks for holiday celebrations. It is with this series I commemorate my happiest moments and celebrate life’s simple pleasures”The inaugural images in this series were originally photographed in Canouan Island, Nosara, Los Angeles, Miami, Antigua, The British Virgin Islands, Mexico, Hawaii, The Bahamas and at his own residence on Lake Erie. In this series, Jensen-Nagle continues to explore the way people interact with their environment during times of leisure; people escaping the hustle of their everyday lives at work, and spending time creating memories, enjoying vacations and visiting places they have always dreamed of. “Whether it is on a beach, a mountain, or in a city, people all gather happily together to experience this world. This interaction captivates me.” “I think many people spend their whole life dreaming of journeying to places that have made a mark in our history.” Photographing those dreams and aspirations in large, immersive scale, Jensen-Nagle attempts to turn those mo-ments into emotions and memories. “Hopefully, my work catches the feelings people leave behind when traveling and shares their experience with others.” Dreams and JourneysForgotten Dreams 40” x 30” | 57” x 43” | 77” x 58” | 93” x 70”

Jensen-Nagle expands on his theme of capturing a feeling by exploring details from the work of other artists’, architects’ and designers’ that move him on an emotional level. To date, the series is a two-part body of work, which he plans on expanding in the future. “As an artist, I am inspired by others who have put their ideas, unique perspective and emotions into their work and out into the world. This body of work attempts to capture the intimate connection I feel with these artists when I experience their work and nd inspiration in them.” The rst body of this series was photographed in Park Güell in Barcelona, and showcases Antonio Gaudi’s masterful mosaic work. Joshua captures tiny sections of the tiled benches that run through the park, takes them out of their original context, glories them in grand photographic scale and highlights Gaudi’s inspirational greatness. For the Designer Fashions body, Jensen-Nagle focuses his lens on small inspirational sections of woven and printed oral patterns, abstracted from new and vintage designer garments, capturing the feeling of elation one experiences when interacting with their beautiful intricacies. Again he creates compositions that showcase each designers’ work in a scale and permanency uncommon for the fashion industry. In his series, Winter, Jensen-Nagle captures vast mountain scenes from various vantage points, where colourful skiers and snowboarders can often be seen amongst white backdrops of snow lled days. His immersive photos invite viewers to lose themselves within the frame. Prided on happenstance, his images show humans completely enveloped by their expansive environment, surrounded by the beauty of the moment, often evoking emotional, nostalgic or aspirational associations.WinterThe Mountains And Me 40” x 30” | 57” x 43” | 77” x 58” | 93” x 70” Breaking Out 20” x 25” | 43” x 53” | 58” x 72” | 72” x 88”
