Spectacular interior with removablesteering wheel, NOS injected engine and grown up rugged styling, this 8 wheel petrol engine monster glows in thedark, a formidable addition to any event, perfect for either a daytime show or an evening party.Inspiration Inspiration for the original 95Spider camefrom multiple sources. The 1995 BatmanForever film and the Artist H.R. Giger. Theexternal bodywork has a retro-futuriststyle, using flat folded aluminium sheets, giving it a biomechanical feel. The interioris Steampunk, but there are a few moderntwists in this project including the abilityto drive the car using a VR headset. SpinnerNo one will step out of line with the Spinner in attendance to keep order! Podpadstudios’ take on the famous lawenforcement vehicle, the spinner. Familiar to two generations of fans from the original 80's Blade Runner film andthe 2017 film Blade Runner 2049. The Spinner is fully drivable, using 2 powerful 450w electric motors. The interiorcontinues the dystopian look: with glowing interactive touch screens and fly-by-wire control systems. Sit in thisvehicle and imagine flying over tomorrow's world. Inspiration The atmospheric cyberpunk landscape ofthe iconic Blade Runner films, and 1980’sLamborghini styling inspired this build, wecombined angular shapes with flowingforms. At Podpadstudios, we have alwayswanted to build the vehicle, as we aremassive fans of all things Blade Runner. We wanted to create something that feltat home in the Blade Runner universe buthad an element of unique design. Flat panel aluminiumgives this prop a 'cartoon like' feel and thesymbols of the eagle and the shield, representing law and order, run through the aesthetics. Gadgets were essential onthis crowd pleaser, so we made theminteractive: when sitting on the bike youget the full Dredd experience, microphone open, sirens wailing andguns blaring! Judge DreddWho doesn't want to jump on the Judge Dredd bike and yell, "I am the Law" ? In homage to the mopeds used in the1995 film we chose a Piaggio X Evo 400cc scooter for the doner vehicle, rumour has it that anything other thanscooters were too tall for the actors and so scooters were chosen for ease of use during filming! MOTO-TMOTO-TMOTO-TMoto-T is a macabre freeze frame in a terrible journey: caught mid transformation from Terminator Bike to Alien, its identity forever ambiguous: the viewer decides. Is it creature or machine? With revolving mini guns, thisworking motorbike is one of our real props based film items that were mainly CGI (Computer Generated Imagery).Fans are always intrigued by the direction this build took, the decisions we made and the techniques we employ.Hire with any of the other Podpadstudios film bike props for a film extravaganza. Inspiration Inspiration for the bike came from theMoto Terminators in the film TerminatorSalvation and the artist H R Giger. Insteadof the bike becoming a replica of theTerminator Bike we, wanted to add the‘Giger’ touch and give the vehicle a moreheavyweight organic, biomechanical lookwith a touch of ‘Alien’. Utopian vision in gleaming alloy, with a stylised 1950s view of the future and a whiff of the infamous light cyclefrom cult film, Tron. Sculptural object that demands attention; lighting effects draw the eye. Great contrast tothe other four bikes in our collection. Ideal for car, bike or shows based in historical eras (1950's), this head turneris unique from its engorged wheels to the scorpion style tank. Looks stunning in contrast when hired with Akira(p7), Moto-T (p9), SteamPod 2 (p12) and Dredd (p8). Inspiration Inspiration for the bike came from theTron films and the famous light cycles. The only animatronic dragons prop with full-sized fantasy carriage in the UK. Each dragon is over 2m long, and isfully animatronic. As the smoke trickles from their toothy grins, they fill the air with their low pitched grumblings, snorts and snores. This is a truly memorable experience for the whole family. When they meet Stardust and Steel, children can sit on the carriage and take control of the dragons, listening to them roar as they unflold their giantwings; sitting in hushed silence, as they hear the terrifying story of the dragons’ captivity by the wicked witch.Imagine the possibilities and the photo opportunities. Steampunk mobile automaton in R series format, appealing to both Sci-fi and Victoriana/history fans.Prerequisite Steampunk features: working smokestack, good supply of coal, horn, lighting and ironic sense ofhumour. Izzy can move from crouching to standing upright. She can move on grass and rough terrain, suitablefor both indoor and outdoor events. This fascinating droid gathers fans where ever she goes. IZZYIZZYInspiration After creating Dalek Victoria, a Star WarsDroid had to follow, in a Steampunk style.Izzy is 90 percent autonomous, beingcontrolled through an onboard microcomputer. Steam, light, sound, action! Steampunk meets Dr Who in Victoria, also known as Vicky, our Dalek with attitude.Carrying her own mini mechanical mutant which moves independently, rotating minigun, water cannon and steamsystem, she fascinates when stationary - but is most impressive when in motion. She earned the title, of theSteampunk dancing Dalek! Her sound system draws the crowds and provides the music for dance-offs with otherDaleks at Sci-fi shows. Hire with K7 of 9 for maximum Dr Who appeal. Victoria Inspiration "Vicky" evolved from a previous DalekCaan design which featured a fullyanimatronic organic mutant, however, thedesign proved to be problematic. Wealways wanted to build a no compromiseSteampunk Dalek and the Dalek Caan, exploded Dalek body seemed like theperfect platform. When K7 of 9 wags his tail, shakes his head and moves his ears, everyone looks. Our operator is hiding in thecrowd, watching carefully as everyone falls under this canine’s spell. Since he was assimilated by the Borg, K7 of9 has become, (dare we say it?) rather superior, sticking his tongue out, and occasionally a bit rude (sprayingwater and sometimes even breaking wind in public!) Fabulous detailing in this sci-fi hybrid means that he appealsto old and young. Hire with Victoria (p19) to focus on Dr Who. Inspiration Many years ago we built a replica K9 for alive Children in Need TV event. After theevent, K9 attended many UK comic andfilm cons but was never alone, alwaysseemed to be in the company of at leastthree other K9s. Eventually it was decidedto give the original K9 a more unique look.Being a huge Star Trek fan it seemedlogical for K9 to be assimilated by theBorg, there is even a Cyberpunk twist inthe styling as well. Emy has evolved over the years, changing colour and style, her latestupgrade has been to become a Disco Diva. Her name was inspired by her build time. When a member of theAmerican R2D2 builders group, found out that Emy was built in record time, he commented, “You should get anEmmy award for completing that droid so quickly” and thus Emy was named. The third of our Star Wars droids, C.I.D is from The Old Republic cartoon, well known by aficionados - andfascinating to the wider audience because of his rotating head, moving eye (with disco laser lights) and openinghead flaps, all of which move when our operator is in control, and work whilst the droid is stationery: animpressive display. People are fascinated when Bubo moves his beak, twists his head round and blinks at them. They know he is amodel; but his grumpy character is so pervasive they can not help but interact with him! (Strokes are allowed,if you are gentle). The technology that makes him move is readily available, and being made from mainlycardboard, we like to think that by talking about how he was built and his film history we are inspiring the nextgeneration of model builders. Bubo often tags along at events to look after the larger Props! Bubo Inspiration We have never been interested in buildingreplica props, however, in this instance itseemed appropriate to pay our respectsto one of the greatest special effectsartists ever, Ray Harryhausen. Bubo hasalways been a favourite character, andbuilding him was an opportunity not to bemissed.
