Internal paroning has been installed to create a plant room, office and toilets with drainage.The building exterior benefits from the quality insulated roof and side cladding, high end thermo glazing seconal door and large contemporary composite windows. Hawkins Projects were responsible for the design, manufacture and installaon of the cycling specific wind tunnel test facility based in Evesham, Worcestershire.Differing from exisng wind tunnel facilies used for aerospace and automove development, this facility is the first of its kind in Europe used for the measurement of dynamic drag for non-motorised sports applicaons.The wind tunnel itself was fabricated in our steel workshop before being dismantled and delivered to site to be installed along with a prep room and control room to form part of the overall facility.23

This excing project has enabled the bakery to substanally increase the weekly output of luxury bread products to keep up with demand. The completed project lasted 9 months and involved the challenge of installing a brand new bakery line and associated infrastructure whilst the site connued to be operaonal. Hawkins projects were responsible for: Full Health and Safety Management of the site with over 500 workers inducted and with over 300 Safe Days on site (Safe Days reporng means RIDDOR or Dangerous Occurrences NOT reported and no lost me to incidents). Design, planning and construcon of new, two storey offices, a large storage building, internal mezzanine and concrete slab construcon for flour silos. Relocaon of internal offices, wash out area and foam store to facilitate new bakery line. Refurbishment of exisng staff offices and facilies. Supply and lay of new specialist Altro Crete slip resistant flooring and walkways in the bakery. Supervision and planning for all phases of the new bakery line, installaon of new equipment from ingredients storage through to product despatch, including mechanical and electrical works and data cabling. 27

Hawkins Roofing worked closely with Hawkins Steel who fabricated and installed the steel frame. Using Kingspan composite insulated panels Hawkins Roofing were then able to provide a thermally efficient and airght roofing and cladding soluon with the ability to carry a secondary mber facade.The project also included installing natural daylight polycarbonate rooflights, curtain wall glazing and power assisted doors.43

This was a TATA Planum specificaon and warranty approved project, using new 120mm Trisomet 333 profile panels in HPS200 Ultra.Hawkins also designed, manufactured and installed a new internal collecve protecon of falls around the roof-lights, removing the requirement for a handrail around the roof-lights to HSE sasfacon.45

Roof details and penetraons were completed with Enkopur cold applied liquid waterproofing system as per the specificaon required by the client.Original Georgian wire glazing units were also removed and replaced with Kingspan Ecoplan rooflights that were bespoke made in Europe to suit the requirements of the site.The construcon process had to be meculously planned and executed so the works could be carried out whilst keeping the enre plant fully operaonal throughout the construcon period.The works were completed on-me despite baling against the elements in a very wet and cold winter period.47

Hawkins Steel Ltd were commissioned to provide technical and design advice for the supply, fabricaon and installaon of a new helical feature staircase.The staircase specificaon included the following features: Floang staircase with all steel supports to be hidden. Curved glass balustrading. Bronze handrails and tread infills. Timber stringers.This was an extremely complex project, with heavy mild steel fabricaon and processes. The steel support structure had to be curved to exacng tolerances. The staircase was fabricated by our highly skilled fabricators and trial erected within our workshop facility. All glass and bronze work was then measured within our facility prior to on-site installaon. All installaon was carried out by Hawkins personnel during nights over a four week period.65
