About Harry Falber 20 year Weston resident Married to Pattie Falber 2 adult children WHS 06 08 Current Partner Trade Area Marketing Group LLC Weston Previous Hallmark Cards Beck s Beer Nabisco Polaroid Corporation Volvo 1800Flowers Global Consultant Gerber Smith Wesson Alcoa Nat Sherman Academic Villages Spain Past Owner Barbecue restaurants in Stamford Hoboken Past Teacher Board Member at Temple Israel Past Board Member Stamford Chamber of Commerce Now that you know where I ve been you should know where I stand Weston is unique A quintessential small town with wide or deep home lots safe neighborhoods if not a charming one room schoolhouse well then a charming and safe School Road Fields to play sports in Trails and forests to hike Farms both private and our new Lachat Town Public Farm A town center that s well just a center A few shops Weston is a Norman Rockwell painting And if we keep Weston this way we will be an oasis in demand of bucolic livability surrounded by cookie cutter suburbs in the shadow of large cites But we will need to ensure Weston has the services that residents will need for the 21st Century And we should do that with an intelligent plan planned openly and transparently Our uniqueness is predicated on two things our two acre zoning in force since 1953 and our incredible school system pre K to 12 all on one road A community of integrated teaching whose outcomes will support your children for the rest of their lives Critical thinking Respect for others Ability to achieve personal levels of success that others can only aspire to I m proud my wife has been part of that effort for 23 years To keep Weston what it is we should keep what we are while evolving for what we need I am for stake in the ground adherence to our two acre zoning I believe our 2 acre zoning is inviolate It s a unique selling proposition I also believe we must be forward thinking looking at how Weston could evolve How we can adhere to what should be unchangeable yet open to what we could help improve Looking to a more holistic integrated Town Central Zone not just a shopping center but a congregation center tying in schools churches reimagined uses of the school parking garage Onion Barn Jarvis Military Academy and allowing the owner of the old Guidera house more parking to make that building more conducive to modest commercial use I would like our town to explore expanded use of Bisceglie Scribner Park to a 12 mounth facility Consider use of the pond as a town ice skating rink in the winter Install a basketball court for our teens and importantly place Blue Light safety poles throughout so we as parents know are children are in a safe tocongregate outdoor space with that safety just a blue button push away I would like to see a pediatrician back in town and never forced out for want of a couple of additional parking spaces And a reimagined Cobbs Mill and Weston Woodsperhaps as shared work space for all our at home business families I want to be part of a Planning Zoning Commission that sees Weston in a 20 year plan as the place it is and the oasis it should always be Yet adaptive to what it will need
