It is a free, nonprofit program that connects transitioning military service members and veterans with quality career opportunities in the construction industry.MVP – MILITARY VETERANS PROGRAM.Earn while you learn! This UBC specially designed 8-week training program makes it easy to transition from the military to a career in the trades as an iindustrial mechanic/millwright or carpenter. The training is completely free with direct entry and 1-year credit into our Millwright or Carpenter apprenticeship programs. No GI bill. Work where you live or travel to where your skills are needed in essential industries like construction, power plants, petrochemical, mining, automotive, aerospace, pprocess plants, highway construction, interior systems, and more. The UBC’s Helmets to Hardhats program provides our nation’s military veterans with chal-lenging careers in carpentry and a source of security for them and their ffamily in the form of healthcare, re-tirement and financial stability.Military veterans are familiar with a structured learning environment, unpredictable weather conditions, and desire to serve the communi-ty. Based on your military occupa-tion code, you can leverage training and work related experience during your time in the service to achieve advanced placement in our appren-ticeship program.
