Resource PersonnelC A L E M E R S O N - O W O S S O , M IPastor Cal has spent his retirement years writing books to help Christians experience a great JOY in this life. He finds it is gratifying to see people experiencing those “a-ha” moments in their spiritual walk and grow in their relationship with Christ, His six books are written for the people in the pews and not the biblical scholars.Cal didn’t become a Christian until he was thirty-one and didn’t go into the ministry until he was forty years old. He then stayed at the same church for twenty-eight years. Prior to the ministry he has two exciting careers, his favorite being an Adidas sales rep for the state of Michigan and later the salesmanager for a twenty-one-state area. He found it hard to leave that profession and go into the ministry butfound God’s calling to become a pastor way too exciting to ignore. He loves people and enjoys making them laugh. His desire is to help them discover what God has created forthem to become. From that discovery helps them live in what he calls “their sweet spot”. He and his wife Beverlythoroughly enjoy Little Eden camp as it introduces them to an exciting group of people each year. S T E V E G L O V E R - P U N T A G O R D A , F LSteve Glover is husband, father, son, pastor, baseball coach, friend, and son of God. He’s passionate about taking the deep things of God and bringing them to the common person. He believes deeply that relationships are the most important thing in life. He loves big and wants everyone to feel seen and included. After growing up as a pastor’s kid, being a youth and music minister for 20 years, he and 12 others started Deep Creek Community Church in Punta Gorda, FL. He has been at that for 23 years, crazy enough to believe that the community of believers that sparked a revolution back in the book of Acts is still possible today. He and his wife, Sarah have five children, a son in law and their first grand baby expected in November. His lifehas been dedicated to spreading the Good News of Jesus’ love. He loves anything active especially fishing inCharlotte Harbor, FL where he resides with his family.GenesisFirst Family7

Although the family is scattered among three states we love spending time with them when we can.I began to develop an interest in quilting as a young teen when I learned to hand quilt from my mother. About 30 years ago that interest grew as I began to learn to piece quilts. At a summer family camp in 2003 I learned about Little Eden QuiltCamp. That September I attended camp, and it was the best experience! I have been coming ever since and have learnedso much form Carolyn Snyder and fellow quilters. This is my 6 year as a leader for the class, and I enjoy it so much and look forward to coming each year. It's a great timeto learn some new skills and best of all to learn to know fellow quilters and make new friends!thGolf & FellowshipQuilting11
Little Eden College Scholarship Fund12Each summer, Little Eden relies heavily on our summer staff—in fact it could besaid that Little Eden wouldn’t be Little Eden without our college students! From itsearly beginnings, Little Eden has provided summer opportunities as well asleadership training to young adults who need a summer job. Over these manyyears, the college staff have brought energy and enthusiasm to the camp, but moreimportantly, they have come with hearts dedicated to service. These quality young people do not come to Little EdenCamp because of the wages we pay; most could havehad a job elsewhere this summer for a higher rate thanthey will receive at camp. Little Eden also providesroom and board during the summer for our collegestaff and a few perks on the side—like one of the mostpristine environments one could hope for in which towork and play! Upon summer’s end, college staff receivea scholarship check made payable to their specificinstitution or college loan organization. This check ismade possible solely through the willingness andgenerosity of you, our summer guests.Money for the Scholarship Fund is obtained fromdonations designated to the Scholarship Fund at theLittle Eden Camp Office any time throughout the week,as well as through snack shop proceeds and Sundaymorning’s offering. In order to benefit from the Scholarship Fund, thefollowing criteria must be met:1. Employed at Little Eden Camp as full-time summerstaff for a minimum of 30 days 2. Enrolled in college or a similar program (tradeschool) sometime during the nine monthsfollowing employment at Little Eden CampAs a staff, we say thank you for prayerfully considering a donation this week to theCollege Scholarship Fund. What is a Permanent Holder Reservation? a) A Permanent Holder is an individual/couple guaranteed year-to-year use of a specific cabin, lodge room, or RV site during a particular week of the summer camping season program. b) The reservation is “permanent” as long as the individual/couple comply with the below stated policies: Policies that Govern Permanent Holder Reservations a) Permanent Holders must be members of the Little Eden Camp Association and must pay the annual membership fee of $35.00. b) Individuals who are Permanent Holders must personally attend camp during their designated week every other year at a minimum. If a Permanent Holder fails to attend two consecutive years, their reservation is forfeited. Exceptions may be allowed due to health or other hardship situations if submitted in writing to the Executive Director no later than October 1 of the year missed. c) Permanent Holders must attend a minimum of three nights during their week in order to be counted as attending that week. d) Permanent Holder reservations are granted to an individual/couple and not to any extended family or family unit. Permanent Holders cannot substitute another family member or friend for a particular year’s reservation. Should this occur, Little Eden reserves the right to terminate the permanent reservation. e) Permanent Holders may voluntarily give up their reservation and transfer the permanent reservation to anyone in your immediate family. (Immediate family is defined as parents and children only.) The family member receiving the transfer must have attended a Little Eden summer camp three out of the past six years. If no immediate family member is eligible, the Permanent Holder relinquishes the reservation, and the camp will fill the opening from the upgrade and waiting list. f) You may not have a permanent reservation for more than one week of the summer. (Exception: the specialty weeks for golf and quilting are not counted as a permanent reservation.) Existing Holders (as of March 1996) are “grandfathered”, but may transfer only one of their reservations to a single family member. g) Permanent Holders must keep a $25 non-refundable deposit on account to hold the reservation. The deposit rolls over from year to year. Little Eden Camp Permanent Holder PoliciesApproved by Board of Directors 9/22/2015 30
h) Permanent Holders must inform the camp of their reservation plans by March 1st each year to allow sufficient time for calling people on the waiting list. Permanent Holders whofail to respond by March 1 will be marked as “not coming” and their permanentreservation for that year will be made available for other campers. i) If cancellation of the reservation occurs after March 1st there will be a $100.00 cancelation fee. If Little Eden is unable to fill the reservation, the Permanent Holder will be responsible for the base accommodation fee. j) Permanent Holders who become divorced will be responsible to work out an agreement regarding the permanent reservation and notify the camp who will be the contact person for the reservation. Permanent Holder Upgrade List a) Permanent Holders may request a temporary upgrade of their facility by submitting a request to the office. Requests for an upgrade are specific to each week of summer camp, and prioritized by the date submitted. b) An upgrade occurs when one Permanent Holder exchanges their permanent holding for another facility. An upgrade is not adding additional facilities to the present reservation. c) After March 1 when all Permanent Holder reservations have been received for the upcoming summer, the vacancies for each week are filled, beginning with the Facility Upgrade List. These upgrades are temporary and for the current summer only. d) Remaining vacancies are then filled by calling the waiting list in priority order.e) RV Permanent Holders can upgrade to another RV site only and not from an RV site to a cabin or lodge room. RV Permanent Holders can only upgrade to a cabin or lodge room if they are on the waiting list for that specific week and are called about a vacancy at which time they may exchange their site. (RV Permanent Holders can be on the waiting list for their permanent week as well as two other weeks.) 31
Getting on the Waiting List: There are three qualifications for being on a waiting list at Little Eden Camp: 1. Be 18 years of age or older and personally ask to be on the waiting list. 2. Be a member of the Little Eden Camping Association and pay the annual membership fee of $35.00 to remain on the list. 3. Affirm the mission statement of Little Eden Camp and agree with the stated camp rules and policies. Little Eden Mission Statement: To provide a Christian environment that nurtures and encourages relationships to God and others through fellowship, worship, camping, and education. Little Eden Rules: 1. No alcoholic beverages, tobacco products, firearms, fireworks, or illegal/unlawful substances allowed on the campground. 2. Pets are not permitted on the campground. 3. Overnight tenting not allowed on the main campground. 4. Modest swimwear/clothing required on Little Eden premises. Purpose of the Waiting List: The waiting list serves two purposes: 1. The waiting list is used each year to fill all available openings for each week of the summer season program. No one on the waiting list is guaranteed a call every year. Calls are made in priority order until the week's reservations are filled. The number of openings each week and the responses (yes” or “no”) determines how far down on the list calls are made. 2. The waiting list is also used to fill open Permanent Holder slots, again in priority order. (See Permanent Holder policies for additional details) How the Process Works: Each spring, Permanent Holders must notify the camp by March 1 if they are coming for their week. Each week’s openings are then filled by first using the Permanent Holder’s Upgrade Listing and then the waiting list for that particular week. In January people on the waiting list will receive a postcard in which they can notify us if they will want a call this year or not. LittleEdenCampWaitingListPoliciesPreviouslyApprov e d byBoardofDirectors 9/22/201532
Calls must be made in priority order. If the person’s contact information is not current(wrong phone number, etc.) and the camp is unable to contact the individual, that person will not be called. (It is the responsibility of each person on the waiting lists to make surethat their contact information is current!) Calls to the waiting list are normally made from early April until all openings have been filled for each week. If there is no answer when a waiting list call is made, a message will be left, and the camp will continue to call the waiting list in priority order. Reservations are accepted in the order received. Upon accepting a reservation, a $100 Deposit is required to hold the spot. This deposit will be applied to the bill for the stay at camp. If the camper cancels at any time, the $100 deposit will be lost. If we are unable to refill the spot, the camper will be responsible to pay the base rate less the deposit. Waiting List Maintenance: There are three ways to be removed from the list: 1. Voluntarily remove your name; 2. A camper is removed from the waiting list when they become a Permanent Holder for that week. (The exception would be RV Permanent Holders who may want to upgrade their RV site to a cabin or lodge room for that week.) 3. All campers on the waiting list must be members of the Little Eden Camp Association and pay the annual dues. Failure to pay the annual dues will terminate the camper from all waiting lists. Other Items: 1. Campers can be on a maximum of two waiting lists beginning with Genesis Week through Rest and Relaxation 1. (They can be on additional late summer waiting lists when the camps are not full.) 2. Permanent Holders (except RV Permanent Holders) who are on other waiting lists will not be called unless they are not coming for their normal week. 3. Campers may not substitute another person for their reservation, nor can they transfer their spot on the waiting list to another person. 4. Campers may not hold a reservation for more than one week each summer. Exceptions are: those grandfathered in with Permanent Holder status, those attending the Pre-family camp weeks in June or attending the late summer weeks beginning with Rest & Relaxation 2 week. Campers that are guests of others who hold a reservation may attend for more than one week. 5. In divorce situations where a couple is on a waiting list, the couple will retain their one spot on the waiting list, and it will be their responsibility to work out an agreement as to who will be attending each year and which one will serve as contact person. 33
