The grand debut of this Iso Grifo A3 L Prototype chassis 420001 was at the 1963 Turin Motor Show It was there that this Bertone masterpiece set itself apart on the world stage The synergistic blend of style and function is the result of a collaboration between two Italian icons Bertone legend Giorgetto Giugiaro styled the coachwork while the chassis design was by no other than Giotto Bizzarrini Bizzarrini known for his engineering genius was responsible for the racing success of the Ferrari 250GTO Grifo 001 went through the development typical of a prototype The original front end was soon redesigned to combat dangerous front end lift at speed The final development is represented by what you see here today

Restoration Items of Interest Color A critical detail nearly lost to time was the original body color Original colored photos had fallen victim to the natural aging film of the 60s As seen in the following photo we were able to identify a large section of original paint under the halo

Restoration Items of Interest Interior Based upon an original period photograph the following details were identified and recreated during the restoration Radio An original Becker Grand Prix was located to recreate the original console layout Vinyl Under magnification we were able to determine the exact pattern used by Bertone Thankfully we were able to source original material Seats Upon closer inspection perforations of the original seat pleating were identified and recreated during the interior restoration

Restoration Items of Interest Side Markers Grand Touring collaborated with ODD Parts to reproduce the current marker lights through magnification of original images

Restoration Items of Interest Reflectors A discovery made by Iso enthusiast Darren Frank uncovered the original intent of the side medallions Upon magnification of original images it was determined that the side medallion was originally a reflector The reflector chosen by Bertone at the time was also used as the interior dome light Grand Touring collaborated with ODD Parts to reproduce exact recreations

Restoration Items of Interest Fuel Tank Upon inspection the original fuel tank had suffered from corrosion and therefore needed to be remanufactured Using the original tank as a pattern an exact copy was produced
