Glimpses Year: 9 | Issue: 28 | Jan- Jun 202475th Republic Day: On 26 January 2024, India celebrated its 75th Repub-lic Day with great enthusiasm. Mrs. Sobhana Mukherjee, Principal, un-furled the National Flag in a vibrant ceremony. The school choir present-ed a patriotic song, ‘Desh Mera, Meri Jaan’, followed by a dance perfor-mance to ‘Itihas Ka Main Aaina Hoon.’The program concluded with the Na-tional Song, ‘Vande Mataram.’ProgramElectoral Awareness Rally: On 3 May 2024, Mr. Rakesh Upadhyay, Principal,  agged off the Electoral Awareness Rally. Scouts and Guides from the school encouraged the public in sur-rounding areas to cast their votes.Adventure and Fun in the Lap of the Hills: Two excursions were organized to the hills. The  rst group, consisting of 65 students and 7 teacher-escorts, visited Manali, while the second group, with 43 students and 5 teacher-escorts, visited Rocksports Adventure Camp in Mussoorie. The students enjoyed the scenic surroundings and adventures, providing a peaceful respite from city life.Students enjoy scenic adventures on excursions to Manali and Rocksports Adventure Camp in Mussoorie.Saptrang: The 31st PCVN-Dainik Jagran ‘Saptrang’ On-the-Spot Art Competition held on 4 Febru-ary 2024, saw participation from hundreds of young artists. Dr. Jyoti Agnihotri Shukla, Professor of Art at Juhari Devi Girls PG College, was the Chief Guest and awarded the prizes in the presence of Smt. Ritu Gupta, Vice Chairperson, JEF, and Principal Mrs. Sobhana Mukherjee.KSS Art Competition: On 2 May 2024, Aanvi Shukla of class 8 A se-cured the Second Prize in the KSS Zone B Art Competition organized by KDMA Kanpur.KSS Solo Singing Competition: On 7 May 2024, Mahi Sachan of 12 D won the First Prize with her me-lodious performance, in the Kan-pur Sahodya Schools Solo Singing Competition. It was hosted by CHS Education Centre Kanpur, 1st Seven-A-Side Inter School Hockey Tournament: On 9 May 2024, the  rst seven-a-side Inter School Football Tournament was held at the school, with PCVN A defeating PCVN B in the all-PCVN Hockey Tournament  nals. AI-Powered Lab Experiments App - Embibe: Students of classes X & XII attended a seminar on using AI-powered lab experiments app and explored Embibe’s virtual labs.Importance of Voting Rights: On 5 April, a special as-sembly was held to raise awareness about the impor-tance of voting rights in a democracy.Book Donation Drive: On 27 March, the school organized a Book Donation Drive to combat illiteracy by empower-ing marginalized segments of the society, who harbour aspirations for academic excellence but are impeded by prohibitive book costs.Project Wild Wonders, PAW Rangers: On 14 April 2024, the Rotaract Club of G.L. Bajaj, in collaboration with our Interactors, launched Project Wild Wonders, a ve-day initiative fostering compassion for animals. Activities in-cluded nurturing dogs, cows, and birds, culminating in a bonding event at Okhla Bird Sanctuary.Hand Hygiene Workshop: Experienced nurses from Ya-tharth Hospital conducted a workshop on sanitation and personal hygiene for classes I and II.Workshop on Importance of CUET: On 11 May 2024, students of classes XI and XII attended a workshop on “Importance of CUET (Common University Entrance Test) and its preparation”, led by Dr. Surbhi Modi Sahai, CEO of Possible Education. Blood Donation Camp: On 18 May, 2024, the Interact Club of our school, in association with Rotary Club of Noi-da City organised a Blood Donation camp in the school premises, wherein around fty ve parents participated in this noble cause. Summer Camp: From 20 May to 31 May, the school held a summer camp for classes FS-I to VII and extra classes for VIII to XII. An array of group dances were presented by our students that mesmerised the audience.Makar Sankranti: On 16 January 2024, students celebrated Makar Sank-ranti through essay writ-ing, quizzes, drawing, and painting and learnt about its signicance.Nari tu Narayani: On 4 Feb-ruary, girls from classes VIII, IX & XI attended a women empowerment program with notable speakers and guests.Tarang Mela: On 10 Febru-ary, the school organized ‘Tarang Mela,’ inaugurated by Shri. Ganesh Sharma, Principal of Global Indian International School.Shala Pravesh: On 28 March, parents of newly enrolled students attend-ed the Orientation Pro-gramme to commence the new academic session with traditional rituals.GL Bajaj Institute Science Model Exhibition: Nine stu-dents from classes IX & XI participated in the Science Model Exhibition at GL Bajaj Institute on 19 January. 8th Annual Sahodaya Mod-el School Awards: On 27 January, the school won rst prizes for Skill Development and Innovative Teaching Pedagogies at the Saho-daya Model School Awards. Earth Day Activities: On 22 April, a special assembly and painting competition themed “Restore the Earth” were held. Additionally, in-ter-house pot painting and poster-making competi-tions were organized for classes V to XII. Republic Day Celebrations: The 75th Republic Day was cele-brated on 26 January 2024. The tricolor was unfurled by the Principal, Dr. V. J. Nagesh, who was accompanied by a special guest, Pranav from the playgroup. Anshika and Rishika Raman delivered patriotic speeches, and group songs were sung.Investiture Ceremony 2024-25: The investiture ceremony was held on 4 May 2024, in the school hall. Mr. Rajnish Mishra, a renowned hockey player and Lakshman Award winner, was the Chief Guest. During the ceremony, Mr. Mishra conferred badges, sashes, and ags upon Raj Vardhan Singh, appointed as the Head Boy; Aditi Jaiswal, appointed as the Head Girl; and the school sports captains, Siddhi Vaish and Utkarsh Rai. All the house captains and other representatives were also conferred with badges.Summer Camp: A summer camp was organized for classes 1 to 8 in the school, from May 16 to 25, 2024. Many students and their parents participated in diverse activities such as yoga, aerobics, digital art, painting, drawing, multimedia, football, basketball, and cricket.Excursion to Chandigarh – Manali – Rola Kholi: On May 21, 2024, nineteen girls, ten boys, and two teachers went to an ex-cursion to Manali and had a wonderful time. They also trekked around 6 kilometers to Rola Kholi and back.AISSE & AISSCE Results: The AISSE and AISSCE results were declared by the CBSE, on May 13, 2024. For AISSCE (Class XII), 145 students appeared, and 18 students scored 90% or above. Pra-khar Agarwal of the Commerce stream topped the school with 96.2%. In Humanities, Aditi Verma scored 95.6%, while in Science, Trisha Agarwal (Biology) scored 94.2%, and Ashish Ranjan (Mathematics) scored 94%. For AISSE (Class X), 130 students ap-peared and all passed with ying col-ors. Atharv Dwivedi topped with 97%, followed by Anurakti Pandey with 96% and Tarun Mahawar with 95.2%. Kashi Sansad Knowledge Competition: Priyanshi Singh, secured second place in the decisive phase of the Kashi San-sad Knowledge Competition, enhancing both her own and the school’s reputa-tion. Her achievement was celebrated with pride by the school authorities. Outstanding Results: JPS proudly an-nounced exceptional results in the Class 10th and 12th board exams. The Class 10th topper secured a remarkable 97%, while in Class 12th, the Science stream topper achieved 96.40%, the Commerce topper 89%, and the Humanities topper 96.6%.Friendly Cricket Showdown, Teachers Triumph Over Students: On 12 January 2024, JPS witnessed an exciting Teachers vs. Students cricket match, bidding farewell to the class 12th students of Batch 2023-2024. Despite a modest start by the students, scoring 83 runs in 8 overs, the teachers’ team chased down the target effortlessly, sealing victory in 6.5 overs with two consec-utive sixes.‘The Conuence’ Annual Exhibi-tion: On 11 February 2024, JPS Va-ranasi, organized its Annual Exhibi-tion, ‘The Conuence.’ The exhibition featured captivating Science exper-iments, practical Math applications, engaging Literature and Language presentations, and a vibrant Picture Gallery showcasing paintings by Jagranites.Shlok Competition: On 13 Feb-ruary 2024, on Basant Panchami, JPS hosted a Shlok Competition. Children dressed in traditional yel-low attire showcased their orato-ry skills with condence, reciting shloks. Judged on presentation, condence, language uency, and pronunciation, their performances were praised for their excitement and passion on stage.Palm Printing Activity: On 5 April 2024, JPS Varanasi organized a Palm Printing activity. Children enthusi-astically engaged in this colourful activity, splattering their palms with various colours and printing impres-sions on chart paper. Powder Sprinkle Activity Enhanc-es Kindergarten Skills: On 19 April 2024, kindergarten kids at JPS par-ticipated in a ‘Powder Sprinkle Ac-tivity’ aimed at enhancing ne mo-tor skills. Conducted on the school premises, this sensory activity fo-cused on the formation and recog-nition of letters. Each child received a tray of talc powder, and under the guidance of instructors, they drew line patterns and letters in the sprin-kled powder. Lohri Festivities: On 13 January 2024, JPS radiated with joy during its Lohri cel-ebration. Principal Sarvesh Sharma led the festivities, lighting the Lohri bonre and distributing traditional treats like re-wari and peanuts. Tiny tots added to the charm by aunting Punjabi attire and participating in a delightful ramp walk.Republic Day: On this day, the school showcased India’s rich cultural heritage through traditional dances, patriotic songs, and historical plays. These perfor-mances highlighted India’s journey to re-public status, fostering unity in diversity.Campcrazee: From March 18 to 23 2024, JPS, Varanasi, hosted ‘Camp-crazee’ as part of its kids’ develop-ment and engagement programs. Over six days, students immersed themselves in 24 diverse activities, creating countless memories. The camp fostered condence, inde-pendence, social skills, leadership, and physical tness among chil-dren.Earth Day Celebrations: On 22 April 2024, JPS, Varanasi, enthusiasti-cally celebrated World Earth Day. The event aimed to raise aware-ness about plastic pollution and its threats to our planet. The entire school participated in a tree plan-tation drive, promoting a greener, healthier, and more oxygenated Earth. Electoral Awareness Rally: On 3 May 2024, Mr. Servesh Sharma, Principal, agged off the Elector-al Awareness Rally by Scouts and Guides of the school, exhorting the public in the surrounding areas of the school to cast their votes. CBSE Workshop with Dr. Jitendra Nagpal: On 13 May 2024, CBSE or-ganized a crucial webinar on Mental Health and Well-being for students. Led by renowned psychiatrist Dr. Ji-tendra Nagpal, the session focused on pragmatic approaches to main-tain mental tness. Tiny tots receive awards for their ramp walk during Lohri festivities. Faculty celebrate their victory in the Teachers vs. Students cricket match. CBSE Board Results: On 13 April 2024, CBSE declared the board results of classes 10th and 12th. Keshav Tripathi (97.2%) topped the District in class 10, and Sanya Akeel (96.6%) was the second District topper in class 12. More than 50 students scored above 90%, adding to the school’s reputation and glory.SOF Olympiad Winner’s Prize Distribution: It is a matter of great pride that students of JPS Kannauj excelled in the SOF Olympiad. Ishan Yadav (VI-A) secured 3rd rank and Vanya Yadav (I-A) secured 1st in the zonal category in the SOF National Cyber Olympiad. Inter House Hindi Recitation Competition (Classes I-V): On 24 April 2024 an inter-house Hindi recitation competition was organized for classes I-V in the school auditorium. Students en-thusiastically participated, performing beautifully on topics like ‘Prarthna,’ ‘Desh Prem,’ and ‘Basant.’ Golden Wings secured rst place, followed by Green Leaves, Red Roses, and Blue Birds.Calligraphy Competition (Classes I-V) & Introductory House Get-Together: On 15 May 2024, an inter-house calligraphy com-petition was held in the school library for classes I-V. Golden Wings won rst place, followed by Red Roses, Green Leaves, and Blue Birds. On the same day, a house get-together was conduct-ed to foster interaction between students and house teachers. House leaders were selected based on various aspects.Welcome Party for Pre-Primary: On 29 April 2024, a welcome party was conducted for the students of P.G., L.K.G., and U.K.G. The students received welcome cards on behalf of the school. Words of blessings were given by the Coordina-tor, motivational songs were sung, and games were played to display the joy in their hearts. Stu-dents also danced to various songs. Visit by Guru Sharnanand ji: On this auspicious day, the school was lled with happiness and spiritual energy due to the visit of Swami Guru Sharnanand ji Maharaj. He motivated students and teachers by emphasizing the importance of education and patriotism in modern times, fo-cusing on morality, ethics, and the philosophy of spiritualism. Rangoli Competition: On 1 April 2024, the school or-ganized a Rangoli Competition that allowed students to showcase their artistic talents. Participants creat-ed intricate and colorful rangoli designs, which were judged on creativity, precision, and overall impact. The competition fostered a spirit of creativity and cultural appreciation among students, as they learned about the traditional signicance of rangoli in Indian culture. 75th Republic Day Cele-bration: On 26 January, 2024, India celebrated its 75th Republic Day with great enthusiasm and pa-triotic fervor. In his inspir-ing speech, Mr. Pradeep Kumar Pandey, the Direc-tor, highlighted the sig-nicance of Republic Day and the sacrices made by freedom ghters. The school choir added to the patriotic atmosphere with their stirring renditions of patriotic songs, creating a memorable experience for all attendees.Holi Celebration: On 7 March 2024, the school celebrated Holi with great enthusiasm. Students were introduced to the cultural and historical signicance of Holi, the festi-val of colors. The celebration included traditional music, dance, and a vibrant display of colors. Robot Made by Students: In February 2024, the school introduced robotics classes to foster inno-vation and technical skills among students. The robotics program culminated in the creation of hu-manoid robots by the students. These impressive projects were showcased during the Parent-Teach-er Meeting (PTM) held on the school campus, where students explained the mechanics and functional-ity of their robots. This initiative not only sparked in-terest in robotics but also emphasized the school’s commitment to incorporating advanced technolo-gy in education.International Yoga Day: On 21 June 2024, Jagran Public School, Basti, celebrated International Yoga Day with a series of activities promoting physical and mental well-being. Under the guidance of Physical Education teacher Mr. Durgesh Kumar Yadav, students and faculties participated in various yoga asanas and pranayama exercises. Lohri Celebration: On 13 January 2024, our school came alive with the joyous celebration of Lohri. The festivities began with the lighting of the Lohri bonre, students and staff gathered around the roaring ames, singing traditional folk songs.Basant Panchami and Saraswati Puja: On 14 February 2024, Basant Panchami was celebrated with a Saraswati Puja at the JPS campus. The principal, staff, and students participated, learning about the sig-nicance of Basant Ritu.Annual Day Celebration: The school celebrated its Annual Day on Feb-ruary 19, 2024, with great enthusiasm and fervor. Students showcased their talents through a variety of cultural programs, including music, dance, and drama, making the event a memorable one. The occasion was graced by the presence of the Chief Guest, Mr. Fateh Bahadur Singh, MLA of Uttar Pradesh, who appreciated the students’ perfor-mances and encouraged them to continue their pursuit of excellence.Mother’s Day Celebration: On 12 May 2024, Mother’s Day was celebrated with various games and entertainment activities involving both students and mothers. The event was well attended by mothers who were invited and honored.Fruit Day Celebration: On 21 May 2024, our school celebrated Fruit Day, the event was a feast for the eyes, with beautifully crafted fruit sculp-tures, intricate arrangements, and stunning presentations that truly re-ected the students’ dedication and ingenuity. Fancy Dress competition: A Fancy Dress competition took place on January 18, 2024, during the Winter Vacation. Despite the extended hol-idays, students enthusiastically participated from the comfort of their homes. The virtual event allowed students to showcase their creativity and costume design skills, turning their living rooms into stages and making the competition a fun and engaging experience even during the winter break.Swachh Bharat Campaign: Gandhi and Shastri Jayanti were celebrated with stu-dents and staff, and a Swachh Bharat Campaign was held to promote cleanli-ness within and outside the school. Tree Plantation on Earth Day: On 22 April 2024, Earth Day was celebrated with a tree plantation event. Students learned about global warming, its causes, and the impor-tance of trees. 8Kalanjali Inter-Collegiate Techno Cultural Fest 2024 Kalanjali inter-college fest, organized from 16th to 22nd February, by Jagran Education Foundation was a vibrant amalgamation of cultural, academic, and tech activities. The fest commenced with an in-auguration ceremony on 16th and continued till the grand vale-diction function. The fest was graced with the presence of DIG Kanpur Shri Jogendra Kumar as the Chief guest, Shri Mahendra Mohan Gupta, Chairman of the Jagran Group, Mrs Ritu Gupta Vice Chairperson JEF, Dr. J N Gupta, (CEO) JEF, Principal Dr. As-mita Dubey, Directors of all JEF Institutions along with esteemed guests from various colleges. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from more than 35 renowned colleges, making it a grand success. Jagran College students showcased their excep-tional talent in various competitions at Kalanjali, delivering elec-trifying performances in light vocal and western singing, folk, western and semi-classical dances, Navras -Fashion show, nuk-kad and mime. They not only focused on academic excellence and technological innovation but also excelled in 30+ events. Navgrah Vatika; an ecofriendly pathway to landscape: Jagran College presented the unique “Navgrah” plant concept, captivat-ing the audience and earning a second commendable prize from the Kanpur Floricultural Society. This concept was a testament to innovation and creativity in  oriculture.Students visit at MSME Expo 2024: Over 100 students from various programs at Jagran College participated in the National Vendor Development Program and MSME Expo-2024, organized on 1st to 3rd March, by the Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) in Fazalganj, Kanpur. Mr. V.K. Verma, Director of MSME, Kanpur, provided valuable insights on becoming successful entrepreneurs.Internship program by Bajaj Finserv: Jagran College held a workshop on 17thMarch, featuring guest speaker Mohd. Ozair from Bajaj Finserv, who shared valuable insights on industry trends, job roles, and internship programs. An MOU with Bajaj Finserv was signed to enhance opportunities for student in-ternships, academic exchanges, and placements.Placement Opportunities at HCL Technologies: BCA  nal year students Arpita Pandey, Anushka Shukla, Japneet Kaur, Ananya Agni-hotri, Abhishek Yadav, Gom-si, Shiva Tiwari, and Pahal Sharma secured promising career opportunities at HCL.Placement Drive in collab-oration with CSJM Univer -sity: Top companies, includ- ing Axis Bank, Unacademy, Bajaj Capital, L&T Finance , Paytm and others, participated in the drive, held on 10th June. The event was honored by the presence of Dr. Prabhat Kumar Dwivedi SSO, CNS, IIT Kanpur and Dr. Prashant Trivedi from School of Business Management, Kanpur University. Approximately 735 students participated, and 368 were shortlisted for various positions. Championing Blood Donation and Thalassaemia awareness: On 11th Feb-ruary, a blood donation camp was or-ganized by NSS unit in collaboration with G.S.V.M Blood Bank Kanpur and Kanpur Thalassaemic Society, where 43 units of blood were collected. Dr. J.N. Gupta, CEO of JEF, honored the donors with certi cates.Clean and Green Campus Drive:SDG club of Jagran College hosted “A Clean and Green Campus Drive” on 15th March, in collaboration with its NSS unit. Dr. Shiv Dixit delivered an insightful discourse on environmental responsibility, and Principal Dr. Asmi-ta Dubey provided insights into the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Devel-opment Goals.Nukkad Natak- Chunav ka Parv, Desh ka Garv: The NSS unit of Jagran Col-lege staged an impactful Nukkad Natak at Motijheel on 11th May. 99Campus Placement Drive: The companies started the process with pre-placement talks, brieng about their organizations and job proles. Around 500 students from 10 colleges enthusiastically participated in written tests, group discussions, and person-al interviews conducted by the companies. Participating companies included Hike Education, Just Dial, Federal Bank, Abir Overseas LLC, KKAP IMPEX, Dataman Com-puters, and others.Faculty Development Program (FDP) on AI Tools: The program on “Skilling of AI Tools for Research, Productivity & Quality” aimed to empower faculty members with the latest knowledge, tools, and methodologies in AI, enabling them to integrate AI concepts into their teaching curriculum and research activities effectively.Annual Convocation Ceremony: On 18 May 2024, JIM held its 17th Annual Convoca-tion for graduating students. The Chief Guest, Dr. Anand Kumar Singh, Vice-Chancel-lor, CSA, Kanpur, and the Guest of Honor, Dr. Mayank Dwivedi, Outstanding Scientist & Director, DMSRDE Kanpur, graced the occasion along with members of the govern-ing council, Chairman Dr. Mahendra Mohan Gupta, Vice-Chairperson Mrs. Ritu Gupta, CEO Dr. J.N. Gupta, and Director Dr. Divya Chowdhry. Students received their degrees and were awarded tablets under the Digi Shakti Scheme by the U.P. Government. Concept Photography workshop: In May, a workshop aimed at boosting creativity, technical skills, and storytell-ing among students was organized. Participants selected different themes, encouraging diverse artistic expression. This activity successfully inspired students to explore their creative potential and enhance their photography skills. Stop Motion Animation Workshop: The session covered the basics of stop motion, including its history, principles, and essential equipment. Students learned to storyboard, set up scenes, and animate objects frame-by-frame. Kalanjali, the annual intercollegiate techno-cultural fest offered a diverse range of competitions and activities. The ‘Creative Fest,’ organized by Jagran Institute of Digital An-imation, stood out with its eight engaging competitions that showcased the participants’ artistic air. Kalanjali 2024, a seven-day inter-college festival orga-nized by Jagran Education Foundation, took place from February 16 to February 22. The fest was segmented into Lit Fest, Techno Fest, Creative Fest, and Cultural Fest, each hosted by different institutions under the founda-tion. The Lit Fest, organized by Jagran Institute of Manage-ment and Mass Communication (JIMMC), commenced with a Shloka Path competition judged by Mrs. Vijayal-akshmi Trivedi and Professor S.P. Tripathi. A self-written poetry recitation competition followed, judged by Dr. Ashok Mishra and Dr. Abha Singh, featuring participants various colleges. Throughout the festival, JIMMC students demonstrat-ed their skills, achieving notable successes. They placed third in the 50-hour lm-making challenge organized by Jagran Institute of Digital Animation, third in Shloka recitation, third in Poetry recitation, rst in Youth Parlia-ment, and secured second and third places in Logo de-sign, third in Radio jingle, rst in Nukkad Natak, and third in Western solo singing. Kalanjali 2024 was a remarkable platform for students to showcase their creativity and foster healthy competition and cultural exchange. Chitra Bharati: At the 5th Chitra Bharati Film Festival in Panchkula, Haryana, Jagran Institute of Manage-ment and Mass Communication’s student, Arpit Gupta’s lm “Untruth” won the Second Runner-Up award. The lm “Untruth,” which raises awareness about the tendency to forward fake news on social media, received high praise. The entire lm was shot on the institute’s campus. Educational Trip to Bhimtal and Nainital: In March, JIMMC students embarked on an educational trip to Uttrakhand. As part of their assignment, they explored various aspects of Nainital, including its temples and changes in the tourism sector. During the trip, students witnessed the Bambi Bucket operation and covered the wildre in the Kumaon region, producing a news bulletin on the incident. This trip provided a hands-on learning experience, allowing students to apply their classroom knowl-edge in real-world scenarios.Holi Program: On the oc-casion of Holi, the students of Jagran Institute of Man-agement and Mass Com-munication organized a grand cultural evening on campus.
