Koblenz: 20 NightsHello Welding Students,I hope you’ll join us this summer in Koblenz,Germany, where you’ll put your welding skills tothe test, and have an opportunity to become anInternationally Certified Welder. This will be anoutstanding cultural experience for all who attendand is open to all students, regardless of your skilllevel or career goals. You will spend three weeks inKoblenz, immersed in the German/Europeanculture, while attending the Handwerkskammer –Koblenz: Metall und Technologiezentrum (Metaland Technology Center). This state of the art “hand working” school trainsGermans and other folks from all over theEuropean continent in welding, fabrication,welding inspection, autobody, electrical, andmore. While there, you will practice and takewelding tests on sheet, plate or pipe, using GTAW,MIG/MAG, and/or SMAW, and will have theopportunity to earn international weldingcertifications in accordance with ISO9606standards.Koblenz, established as Roman military postaround 8 B.C., is a Sister City of Austin, and is anamazing city. It sits where the Rhine and MoselRivers converge at what is called the DeutschesEck, or German Corner. Medieval castles,fortresses, and vineyards, line both of these rivers,alongside the remarkable German train systemwhich can take you all over Europe. The ACC Welding Technology department beganit’s relationship with Koblenz and theHandwerkskammer in 2001 and we are so happyto offer this once in a lifetime experience to ourstudents.
