ABOUT THE CHEFHi everyone! For those of you whodo not know me, my name is TaylorSwift, and I have been writing,singing, and performing my wholelife. I have explored a wide variety ofmusical genres and undergone manydifferent “eras” in life. I wanted tocreate a cookbook-style guide for mymost recent stadium tour, formallyknown as The Eras Tour. This is my6th stadium tour of my career, andthis tour is so incredibly special to meas it encompasses everything I haveworked on throughout my wholecareer. My tour contains flavors of alldifferent musical genres, and so doesthis cookbook!In this book you will see elements ofmy country roots through myFearless and Speak Now Eras. Youwill also find touches of pop musicthroughout my 1989, Reputation,Lover, and Midnights Eras. Finallyyou will experience a depth of recipesand seasonings through my albumsFolklore and Evermore, as a delveinto my indie music era. “Lover” is an album that I hold near and dear tomy heart. I wanted to use this record as anopportunity to promote a more positive, upbeatambiance in contrast to my previous album“Reputation.” During the production of thisalbum, I was in a 6-year relationship with JoeAlwyn, which inspired many of my moreromantically-based tracks on thealbum. Released in 2019, “Lover” was essentiallymy debut when it came to my involvement inpolitics. In songs like “The Man,” “You Need toCalm Down,” and “Miss Americana & theHeartbreak Prince,” I touch on the social issuesof our generation, encouraging equality andembracing a feminist perspective. “Fearless,” my second album, was the album thattruly launched my career in 2008. This albumfeatured a mix of country and pop music,featuring mainly string-oriented instrumentsincluding banjos, acoustic guitar, electricguitars, and fiddles. Only 18 when I released therecord, tracks like “You Belong with Me,” and“Love Story,” both which made the billboard top200 for several weeks. The album captures aplethora of passionate feelings--love, anger,heartbreak, and ambition. This album was thefirst one I rerecorded; “Fearless (Taylor’sVersion) came out in 2021, dropping anadditional six vault tracks.BEHIND THE RECIPE

My ninth studio album released in 2020,“Evermore” was my second indie-folkalbum. The sister record to my previousalbum “Folklore,” it was influenced heavilyby the isolation we experienced during thepandemic. The hardships and globaltranquility over that year inspired me towrite more quiet, minimalistic-feelingmusic. Although this style of music wasincredibly experimental for me, songs like“Willow” and “Champagne Problems”became highly popular.BEHIND THE RECIPE

Heavily influenced by my poor image withthe media from 2014-2017, “Reputation” is anpop record that embraces this perceivedcharacter. This Sprinkled with petty trackslike “Look What You Made Me Do” and “Thisis Why We Can’t Have Nice Things” targetedat Kanye West after the VMAs in 2009, thisalbum was definitely bold! My most popularsongs featured on this album include “Don’tBlame Me,” “Delicate,” “Ready for it?” and“End Game.” The record employs intenseelectronic production and is themed withdark color and the presence of snakes.BEHIND THE RECIPE

My fourth studio album, “RED” was released in2012. “RED” began my pivot from country musicinto primarily pop music. Red is a very emotionalalbum for me--hence the color, which Ipurposefully selected as the album name tocapture the passion of my feelings during thisperiod of my life. This record was written duringsome of my most intense heartbreaks, inspired bymy experiences with Joe Jonas and JakeGyllenhaal. “Folklore” was eighth studio album, and my firstpandemic album--released in July of 2020. Idecided that the pandemic was an opportunityto experiment with music--and the isolation thatcame with social distancing allowed me to do soperfectly. I found songwriting to be my form ofescape, letting my imagination run vividly andmaking up stories about fictional characters toput into songs. The tracks “Betty,” “August,” and“Cardigan” share the same story about a love-triangle, but each are told from the perspectiveof different characters. I simply couldn’t stopplaying with this style of music, so I released“Evermore” as a sister record to “Folklore” justfive months later. BEHIND THE RECIPE

My fifth studio album, “1989,” marked my firststrictly pop album. The album was released in2014, following when I moved from Nashville toNew York. This move was a large one for mycareer that flooded me with immense inspiration,which took the form of more electronicinstrumentals modeling 80s style music.Awarded the Grammy Album of the Year at the58th Grammys, the record was given the name“1989” after my birth year symbolizing myrebirth as an artist in terms of genre.
