List updated as of July 16, 2025. DIRECTOR’S NOTES When Frozen hit theaters in 2013, I was immediately hooked. Maybe it was the theater kid in me who loved Idina Menzel or simply the fact that I love a sappy Disney movie, but I denitely understood the craze surrounding this lm. Within 2 years, I started working for a princess party company where of course everybody wanted to meet Elsa. I “played” Elsa many mes, narrowly escaping the requests to make it snow indoors. It is such a gi to be able to create that same magic I was making in 2015 with this generaon of young actors (who were so kind to remind me that some of them weren’t even born when Frozen came out!). I am so grateful that Frozen Jr. was chosen for the youth producon this year. Although this is my third youth producon direcng at The Barn, it has certainly been my biggest undertaking yet. I want to give a few extra thank yous to the people who made it possible. To my producer John, thank you for your help in keeping our producon on track and jumping into help when needed. To my set designer and constructor Ma, I am in awe of your creave mind and am grateful for your dedicaon to this massive project (and listening to me talk about this show 24/7). To my costumer Sandy, you are a costuming wizard, and I am so grateful you agreed to take on this beast of a costume endeavor. Thank you for your wisdom and your aenon to detail with every aspect of this show. Lastly, to my creave producon team: Emily, Erin, and JJ. I truly could not fathom having done this without you. You each stepped up to your roles on this team and helped me in ways I didn’t even know I needed. Thank you for everything you gave to this producon. What I love about Frozen is that it tells a love story, but not like most Disney princess movies before its me. Of course, there are the cute romanc side plots. However, the core of the story is how we can appreciate love in the people that surround us: our family, our friends, and even strangers we meet on our own “journey up the mountain.” I’m so lucky to have met these 24 actors who remind me every rehearsal why I love to do community theater. My favorite part of the youth producon is watching these kids forge new connecons, li each other up, and just enjoy being in a space that celebrates what they love to do. I hope they have inspired you, as they have inspired me, that “love can thaw a frozen heart.” Amanda Lamphere
