This prayer guide was created out of a heartfelt desire to ignite the Church totake time in May—Foster Care Awareness Month—to intentionally pray for thechildren, families, and workers within the foster care and adoption system.Throughout this month, there are 31 carefully curated prayer topics, eachcorresponding to a specific day in May. These prayer points focus on differentaspects of the foster care and adoption journey, from the children in need ofhomes to the families and professionals who support them.In many communities, the foster care system is stretched to its limits, facingurgent and unfulfilled needs:The number of children in foster care far exceeds the number of availablefoster families.More children are waiting for adoption than there are families ready toadopt.Families in crisis are more numerous than the support services available tohelp them stay together. As you walk through each day of this prayer guide, we encourage you to reflecton these needs and bring them before God. Each prayer topic offers a uniquefocus, giving you a chance to intercede for specific groups of people involved infoster care and adoption.Through these prayers, we believe the Church can make a profound impact—asking God to intervene, strengthen, and provide for children, families, andcaregivers. Join us this May as we lift up the foster care and adoption community in prayer, trusting that God will work powerfully in the lives of those who need it most.
