1 Preparing Generational Fathers Family is a Kingdom Priority The Family Life International Fellowship 2018 Focus Preparing Generational Fathers is inspired through Gen 18 19 Eph 6 1 4 T Being About My Father s Business by Ruth This may be a little strange to say but I am pressing pause for a few weeks this summer It s not that we are not doing things but I realize that in order for the ministry to thrive I must do less now in order to be more effective later God has blessed me to become a part of the Goldman Sachs 10 000 Small Businesses program For three months this summer along with 21 other small business owners I am learning to work on my business and not just in it What does this have to do with ministry the church the kingdom A lot I have always been a big fan of bi vocational ministry I believe this can be seen in the ministry of Jesus and the first men and women disciples Jesus I see as a builder a Master carpenter who would be involved in major developments not just making chairs and tables No wonder he was not bothered by those guys tearing the roof of the house in order to get someone to Him He could fix the person and the house Peter James and John were in the fishing business Mary might have made perfume or sold it How would she have been able to offer such a costly sacrifice With their businesses thriving these folks could get about the ministry of Christ assured that their families were okay and they would have something to give to the support of the ministry The Goldman Sachs program is such blessing It requires an investment of at least 100 hours of class time this summer I believe that our family the ministry the businesses and everything else I am involved in will benefit Already other people are stepping up to teach and lead The young adults are leading in June Their talent for leadership prayer and teaching is coming forth We are also hosting a men s conference in June as we celebrate Father s day and focus on Generational fatherhood Archbishop Lands is honoring us by presenting there In July we will focus on our children opening our facilities for learning loving and fun All the while I will be learning more about the business of business and the business of ministry for the Glory of God and the blessing of God people Ruth Allen Ollison is Senior Pastor of Beulah Land Community Church in Houston Texas

3 God has a Blessing For You By Archbishop Dr Sterling Lands II Presiding Bishop God has a blessing waiting for you in this reading that will redirect your current approach and reward you Read Hear Believe Become and Do this Word please Pr 10 1 The proverbs of Solomon A wise son makes a glad father but a foolish son is a sorrow to his mother Pr 10 2 Treasures gained by wickedness do not profit but righteousness delivers from death Pr 10 3 The LORD does not let the righteous go hungry but he thwarts the craving of the wicked Pr 10 4 A slack hand causes poverty but the hand of the diligent makes rich Pr 10 5 He who gathers in summer is a prudent son but he who sleeps in harvest is a son who brings shame Pr 10 6 Blessings are on the head of the righteous but the mouth of the wicked conceals violence Pr 10 7 The memory of the righteous is a blessing but the name of the wicked will rot Pr 10 8 The wise of heart will receive commandments but a babbling fool will come to ruin Pr 10 9 Whoever walks in integrity walks securely but he who makes his ways crooked will be found out Pr 10 10 Whoever winks the eye causes trouble and a babbling fool will come to ruin Pr 10 11 The mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life but the mouth of the wicked conceals violence Pr 10 12 Hatred stirs up strife but love covers all offenses Pr 10 13 On the lips of him who has understanding wisdom is found but a rod is for the back of him who lacks sense Pr 10 14 The wise lay up knowledge but the mouth of a fool brings ruin near Pr 10 15 A rich man s wealth is his strong city the poverty of the poor is their ruin Pr 10 16 The wage of the righteous leads to life the gain of the wicked to sin Pr 10 17 Whoever heeds instruction is on the path to life but he who rejects reproof leads others astray Pr 10 18 The one who conceals hatred has lying lips and whoever utters slander is a fool Pr 10 19 When words are many transgression is not lacking but whoever restrains his lips is prudent Eccles 5 3 Eccles 10 13 14 James 3 2 Pr 10 20 The tongue of the righteous is choice silver the heart of the wicked is of little worth Pr 10 21 The lips of the righteous feed many but fools die for lack of sense Pr 10 22 The blessing of the LORD makes rich and he adds no sorrow with it Pr 10 23 Doing wrong is like a joke to a fool but wisdom is pleasure to a man of understanding Pr 10 24 What the wicked dreads will come upon him but the desire of the righteous will be granted Pr 10 25 When the tempest passes the wicked is no more but the righteous is established forever Pr 10 26 Like vinegar to the teeth and smoke to the eyes so is the sluggard to those who send him Pr 10 27 The fear of the LORD prolongs life but the years of the wicked will be short Pr 10 28 The hope of the righteous brings joy but the expectation of the wicked will perish Pr 10 29 The way of the LORD is a stronghold to the blameless but destruction to evildoers Pr 10 30 The righteous will never be removed but the wicked will not dwell in the land Pr 10 31 The mouth of the righteous brings forth wisdom but the perverse tongue will be cut off Pr 10 32 The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable but the mouth of the wicked what is perverse Jas 1 1 James a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ To the twelve tribes in the Dispersion Greetings Jas 1 2 Count it all joy my brothers when you meet trials of various kinds Jas 1 3 for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness Jas 1 4 And let steadfastness have its full effect that you may be perfect and complete lacking in nothing Jas 1 5 If any of you lacks wisdom let him ask God who gives generously to all without reproach and it will be given him Jas 1 6 But let him ask in faith with no doubting for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind Jas 1 7 For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord Jas 1 8 he is a double minded man unstable in all his ways Jas 1 9 Let the lowly brother boast in his exaltation Jas 1 10 and the rich in his humiliation because like a flower of the grass he will pass away Jas 1 11 For the sun rises with its scorching heat and withers the grass its flower falls and its beauty perishes So also will the rich man fade away in the midst of his pursuits Jas 1 12 Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life which God has promised to those who love him Jas 1 13 Let no one say when he is tempted I am being

4 tempted by God for God cannot be tempted with evil and he himself tempts no one Jas 1 14 But each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire Jas 1 15 Then desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin and sin when it is fully grown brings forth death Jas 1 16 Do not be deceived my beloved brothers Jas 1 17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change Jas 1 18 Of his own will he brought us forth by the word of truth that we should be a kind of first fruits of his creatures Jas 1 19 Know this my beloved brothers let every person be quick to hear slow to speak slow to anger Jas 1 20 for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God Jas 1 21 Therefore put away all filthiness and rampant wickedness and receive with meekness the implanted word which is able to save our souls Jas 1 22 But be doers of the word and not hearers only deceiving yourselves Jas 1 23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer he is like a man who looks intently at his natural face in a mirror Jas 1 24 For he looks at himself and goes away and at once forgets what he was like Jas 1 25 But the one who looks into the perfect law the law of liberty and perseveres being no hearer who forgets but a doer who acts he will be blessed in his doing Jas 1 26 If anyone thinks he is religious and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his heart this person s religion is worthless Jas 1 27 Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this to visit orphans and widows in their affliction and to keep oneself unstained from the world Pr 17 1 Better is a dry morsel with quiet than a house full of feasting with strife Pr 17 2 A servant who deals wisely will rule over a son who acts shamefully and will share the inheritance as one of the brothers Pr 17 3 The crucible is for silver and the furnace is for gold and the LORD tests hearts Pr 17 4 An evildoer listens to wicked lips and a liar gives ear to a mischievous tongue Pr 17 5 Whoever mocks the poor insults his Maker About Us As a Fellowship we are in full communion with Christ centered ministries and we are not limited to a specific geographical area We are currently in relationship with churches and ministries in the USA Cuba West Africa East Africa UK India Pakistan and the Caribbean In our work of ministry we will neglect no person In all that we do we strive to do the right thing the right way for the right reason expecting the right results to benefit our sisters and brothers and glorify God according to His Word Our Fellowship schedule is designed to meet the needs and interest of our people in their daily walk with Christ We address those areas that provide the greatest return in the lives of our people on an individual and collective basis ca East Africa UK India Pakistan and the Caribbean

he who is glad at calamity will not go unpunished Pr 17 6 Grandchildren are the crown of the aged and the glory of children is their fathers Pr 17 7 Fine speech is not becoming to a fool still less is false speech to a prince Pr 17 8 A bribe is like a magic stone in the eyes of the one who gives it wherever he turns he prospers Pr 17 9 Whoever covers an offense seeks love but he who repeats a matter separates close friends Pr 17 10 A rebuke goes deeper into a man of understanding than a hundred blows into a fool Pr 17 11 An evil man seeks only rebellion and a cruel messenger will be sent against him Pr 17 12 Let a man meet a she bear robbed of her cubs rather than a fool in his folly Pr 17 13 If anyone returns evil for good evil will not depart from his house Pr 17 14 The beginning of strife is like letting out water so quit before the quarrel breaks out Pr 17 15 He who justifies the wicked and he who condemns the righteous are both alike an abomination to the LORD Pr 17 16 Why should a fool have money in his hand to buy wisdom when he has no sense Pr 17 17 A friend loves at all times and a brother is born for adversity Pr 17 18 One who lacks sense gives a pledge and puts up security in the presence of his neighbor Pr 17 19 Whoever loves transgression loves strife he who makes his door high seeks destruction Pr 17 20 A man of crooked heart does not discover good and one with a dishonest tongue falls into calamity Pr 17 21 He who sires a fool gets himself sorrow and the father of a fool has no joy Pr 17 22 A joyful heart is good medicine but a crushed spirit dries up the bones Pr 17 23 The wicked accepts a bribe in secret to pervert the ways of justice Pr 17 24 The discerning sets his face toward wisdom but the eyes of a fool are on the ends of the earth Pr 17 25 A foolish son is a grief to his father and bitterness to her who bore him Pr 17 26 To impose a fine on a righteous man is not good nor to strike the noble for their uprightness Pr 17 27 Whoever restrains his words has knowledge and he who has a cool spirit is a man of understanding Pr 17 28 Even a fool who keeps silent is considered wise when he closes his lips he is deemed intelligent Jas 4 1 What causes quarrels and what causes fights among you Is it not this that your passions are at war within you Jas 4 2 You desire and do not have so you murder You covet and cannot obtain so you fight and quarrel You do not have because you do not ask Jas 4 3 You ask and do not receive because you ask wrongly to spend it on your passions Jas 4 4 You adulterous people Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God Jas 4 5 Or do you suppose it is to no purpose that the Scripture says He yearns jealously over the spirit that he has made to dwell in us Jas 4 6 But he gives more grace Therefore it says God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble Jas 4 7 Submit yourselves therefore to God Resist the devil and he will flee from you Jas 4 8 Draw near to God and he will draw near to you Cleanse your hands you sinners and purify your hearts you double minded Jas 4 9 Be wretched and mourn and weep Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom Jas 4 10 Humble yourselves before the Lord and he will exalt you Jas 4 11 Do not speak evil against one another brothers The one who speaks against a brother or judges his brother speaks evil against the law and judges the law But if you judge the law you are not a doer of the law but a judge Jas 4 12 There is only one lawgiver and judge he who is able to save and to destroy But who are you to judge your neighbor Jas 4 13 Come now you who say Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit Jas 4 14 yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring What is your life For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes Jas 4 15 Instead you ought to say If the Lord wills we will live and do this or that Jas 4 16 As it is you boast in your arrogance All such boasting is evil
