Gabby’s advice to all the young dancers at Fleetwood:“It is never too late to start dancing. I didn’t start until age 9,and really pushed myself the last three years to be able todance the role of The Sugar Plum Fairy. Follow your passion,and follow your heart.”Gabby VictoriaGabby has been dancing at Fleetwood Dance Center for nineyears. She has plans to Major in Biology, on a Pre-Med track,and hopes to Minor in Dance. She is very grateful for all of theopportunities Fleetwood has provided through her tenure. Herfavorite memory at Fleetwood was assisting with teaching thelittles for this past season of The Nutcracker. 14
Ksenia has been dancing at Fleetwood Dance Center for 12years. She is planning to major in Psychology and minor inDesign. Fleetwood Dance Center has always been a big part ofher life. Ksenia is very thankful for all performanceopportunities at Fleetwood, especially The Nutcracker andDisney Orlando. One of Ksenia’s favorite memories was beingchosen as the Rat King and dancing with her mice! Ksenia wouldlike to say a special thanks to her dance teachers and tech crewover the years.Ksenia’s message to all the young dancers at Fleetwood:“Be kind to each other and never be afraid to dance full out!”Ksenia Myltsev15
Chloe MostynChloe’s advice to younger dancers:“Always push yourself to do better because it will pay off in theend, and make sure to have fun and make lots of memories!”Chloe has been dancing at Fleetwood Dance Center for 16years and teaching dance for the past two years. She plans tomajor in dance at the University of Alabama! Chloe is gratefulfor all the amazing opportunities that Fleetwood has given hersuch as Disney Orlando, Nutcracker, Tim Tebows Night to ShineProm, and Focus Valentine’s Day Dance! One of her favoriteFleetwood Dance memories has been the amazing opportunityto help teach students during the year. Chloe would like to givea big thanks to all of her dance teachers that have helped hergrow as a dancer, especially her mother Joy Dameron.16
Cathleen CottonCathleen encourages all the younger dancers at Fleetwood toleave all of their problems at the door, and just live in themoment. “You can do more than you think you can. Don’t ever give up!”Cathleen Cotton has been dancing at Fleetwood Dance Centerfor 11 years, and teaching dance for the past three years. Sheplans to attend Point Park University to pursue a BFA in Danceand join the Honors College for Business. Cathleen is sothankful for all of the opportunities provided by Fleetwoodincluding The Nutcracker, Disney Orlando, The AtlantaSymphony Orchestra, and the Night to Shine Prom! One of herfavorite memories at Fleetwood Dance was coming off stageafter performing Sugarplum and all of her friends embracingher in a hug. Cathleen would like to thank all of her teacherswho have supported her throughout her years at Fleetwood! 17
Alexandra GrayAlexandra has been dancing at Fleetwood since the eighthgrade, however, she has been dancing since the age of three.Her favorite memory at Fleetwood Dance Center was definitelyher senior Nutcracker season. She loved getting to be in herfavorite show with her favorite people one last time. Next year,she plans to attend Clemson University and major in earlyeducation. She hopes to continue assistant teaching balletclasses for young children in college, as that has been one ofher favorite experiences at Fleetwood. Alexandra's advice for younger dancers, "Enjoy being on stageand performing. Even though it’s easy to get caught up in thenerves and all the people watching you, take a minute toremember how great it feels to dance and to do what you trulylove!"18
Saniya Khan19Saniya has been dancing at Fleetwood since she was 6 years old! Shewill be attending Georgia Tech and majoring in physics and publicpolicy, and she hopes to continue performing in a dance company.Saniya is forever grateful to her dance teachers and peers forteaching her the values of commitment, diligence, artistry, andcommunity. She has gotten to perform in the Nutcracker over the yearsand had the honor to perform live with the Atlanta SymphonyOrchestra along with other Pre-Pro dancers this year. Her favoritememory as a child was when the whole studio started clapping insupport when she achieved the handstand trick as a 6-year-old card.Now, some of her favorite memories are being in the same studiopracticing the Sugar Plum pas de deus every weekend beforeNutcracker, helping all the younger students through the group waltzes,and sitting on the floor backstage watching her friends perform. If she has one piece of advice for younger dancers it is this: “Giveeverything you do your complete and total heart. Feel the meaningbehind your steps, and perform like it’s your last chance always.”

UPCOMING AUDITIONSUPCOMIMG AUDITIONS Fleetwood Dance Theater, Inc. Fleetwood’s non-profit dance company will hold auditions for new as well as returning dancers on Saturday, May 10, and Monday May 19. Please wear your leotard, clean pink tights and ballet shoes. A short wrap skirt is permissible. Bring Pointe shoes if you are currently on pointe. Have your hair in a tight bun and look your best! Saturday, May 10:8:30am-10:00pm (ages 16 to 18) 10:00am-11:30pm (ages 13 to 15) 11:30am-12:30pm (ages 11 to 12)Monday, May 19: 4:30pm – 5:30pm (ages 7 and 8) Studio B*5:30pm-6:30pm (ages 9 and 10) Studio A * Showcase Dancers - rising 2nd and 3rd graders. For dancers who are interested in expanding their ballet training to 2 ballet classes a week as well as adding tap, jazz and hip Hop. This schedule will prepare them for auditioning for the FDT Company. 21 **Dancers who missed the 5/10 auditions should contact the studio for a makeup audition.
