The Stroke Center at St. John’s Regional Medical Center provides lifesaving care when every second counts. Under the direction of Mani Nezhad, MD, Medical Director, Stroke Program, we provide the highest level of care possible for the most complex acute ischemic stroke patients, which includes:•Immediate access to neurologists specializing in stroke care within minutes of arrival in our ER•Neurosurgeons, neurointerventionalists, neurocritical care specialists, neuroradiologists, and anesthesiologists•Specialized surgical procedures for the most complex acute ischemic stroke patients•Dedicated stroke nurse practitioners•An acute stroke team•Faster turnaround times for CT scans and lab results to improve timeliness of treatment•Advanced imaging capabilities including -Tesla MRI, CT perfusion, and RAPID software•Inpatient Acute Rehabilitation ProgramInitial Emergent Treatments•Thrombolytic Therapy ex. Tenecteplase tNKASE®: Clot-busters to treat an acute ischemic stroke that must be administered through an IV within  hours from the onset of stroke symptoms. Before they are administered, a CT scan is performed to detect any possible bleeding in the brain.•Mechanical Thrombectomy: A blood clot is removed from a blocked artery in the brain through a catheter inserted through an artery in the wrist or groin. This restores blood ow to the brain and greatly reduces the chances of disability from stroke if performed within  hours from the onset of stroke symptoms.•Hemorrhagic Stroke Treatments: Medications to stop the bleeding in the brain or to lower blood pressure or reduce swelling in the brain. •Neurovascular interventions and neurosurgery to secure an aneurysm or treat bleeding.Certified Advanced Thrombectomy-Capable Stroke Center St. John’s Regional Medical Center is certied as a Thrombectomy-Capable Stroke Center by The Joint Commission TJC. We celebrated this remarkable achievement and recognized our cardiovascular team for their incredible eorts and teamwork.St. John’s Regional Medical Center leadership, physicians and staff gather to celebrate Healthgrades naming the hospital the #1 in Coronary Intervention in the State of California.Breast Symposium Event a SuccessThanks to St. John’s Integrated Breast Center Specialists for making St. John’s th Annual Breast Symposium an event to remember. The nearly  people in attendance learned about the latest advancements in breast health, screening, prevention and treatment, and received complimentary chair massages and bone density testing. Inspiring Future Clinicians at Robotics Open HouseThank you to all of our physicians who joined us for our robotic open houses at St. John’s Regional Medical Center and St. John’s Hospital Camarillo. In an eort to inspire careers in medicine, students from Oxnard Union High School and other local schools had the unique opportunity to try out the da Vinci Xi and ION Robot, while learning from members of the operating team. The da Vinci Xi supports surgeons in the most complex procedures with unmatched precision, while our new ION Robot diagnoses lung cancer earlier and less invasively. We’re proud to have both of these minimally invasive robotic options available and to educate future clinicians. Physicians in the NewsWe’d like to thank and recognize the following physicians who were recently featured in the local media. Chirag Dalsania, MD, Medical Director of Hematology/Oncology, was featured in the Citizens Journal publication in a story about the devastating impact climate change has on skin cancer incidence and mortality, as melanoma has become the most common cancer in the U.S. Joo-Hye Dilly, MD, Pediatrics, was featured on KEYT-TV where she shared back-to-school tips, such as ensuring children are up-to-date on their health visits and establishing healthy sleeping habits prior to returning to school.Lynn Jeers, MD, Chief Medical Ocer, and Andrew Jeers, MD, Medical Director of the St. John’s Orthopedic Center, were featured in the Catholic Health World publication in a story about internships at St. John’s Hospitals and Glendale Memorial Hospital and Health Center that invite high school and college students from underrepresented backgrounds to experience the health care eld rst-hand.5 St. John’s Medical Dialogue

To receive this accreditation SJRMC underwent a rigorous onsite inspection from the Surgical Review Committee, committed to continuous improvement, and met nationally recognized standards to produce superior clinical outcomes and high patient satisfaction.
