Message Perfect Pumpkins!!Third EditionPumpkin Making!FERRING FOCUSWe are really grateful to Hazel and John who came from ‘SameSky’ to run acreative workshop with our Day Service Customers. The amazing pumpkins andghosts that were made were used to decorate Rangers Café and the VisitorCentre to add a spooky atmosphere for Halloween Half Term. They then learnt how to care for it by weeding it, watering it,laying straw to protect it and finally harvesting it.The sense of pride and achievement is immeasurable, especially as theysee the fruits of their labour used in Rangers Cafe, Dales Farm and sold inthe shop. You aren’t just buying a pumpkin, you are buying love, effort,self-worth, and a sense of purpose. Thank you to everyone who bought apumpkin from us. We would love to see photos of what you did with yourpumpkin to complete the story. Well done andthank you to everyonewho played a part. We continue to fundraisetowards our studio, andhope to be able to breakground in the comingmonths. A big thank youto everyone who hassupported this project,particularly those wholiterally walked over hotcoals!

Thank you!The tips and donations in Rangers Café and the Visitor Centre collection pot have also been countedand over £400 has been collected! Thank you for every penny you pop in these, they all add up tomake pounds!Petanque is a favoured sport among our Day Service Customers playedevery Wednesday under the guidance of our wonderful volunteersMargaret and Annette. Therefore, it was decided we would make apetanque scene for the Ferring Scarecrow Festival this year and callit...’Scare-throws’! It was a huge team effort to make the scarecrowsand the finished result, displayed at the entrance to the Centre, was abig success. A mini petanque court was set up as part of the display,inviting people passing by to have a go! Halloween DiscoOn Friday, 18th October, under the luminous glow of aHunter’s Full Moon, an intrepid group of participantsgathered at Ferring Country Centre for an unforgettablefundraising event, Ferring Firewalk! This daring act, sawindividuals walk across glowing hot embers, and wasorganised to support the construction of a new Dance andFitness Studio at the Centre. The Ferring Firewalkersdemonstrated courage and resilience as they crossed thefiery path. Onlookers and supporters could buy deliciousfood and refreshing drinks in Rangers Cafe, and enter intoan exciting raffle. Firewalkers were presented with a t-shirt,medal and glass of prosecco for completing the challenge. The evening not only showcased the bravery of theparticipants but also the community’s commitment tofundraising to enhance our facilities. Thank you to all whotook part and for those that sponsored them!The Day Service Halloween Disco, held in Rangers Cafe, wasa night to remember. Dim lighting created a ghostly glow,enhancing the spooky atmosphere. Attendees woreincredible costumes, ranging from wicked witches toBeetlejuice characters. They were all amazing and added tothe vibes of the evening.The dance floor throbbed with ghastly beats and classicHalloween tunes, enveloping everyone in a spine-tinglingrhythm. The air buzzed with excitement and delicious foodwas enjoyed by all! Everyone agreed it had been a fang-tastic evening. Save the date, Tuesday 3rd December, forthe Day Service Christmas Disco!
