Fairfield County Children s Choir A child who sings learns about life Recent Upcoming Performances Faculty Jon Noyes The Fairfield County Children s Choir FCCC founded in 1995 is a community based choral program that offers exceptional musical training and performance opportunities On May 21 2022 we will present our annual Spring Concert at Carnegie Hall We present many concerts at the Klein Auditorium in Bridgeport and at other local venues The FCCC consists of four choirs made up of over 300 children from throughout Fairfield County Recent performances have included Carmina Burana at Lincoln Center the Vivaldi Gloria the Faure Requiem and the Bach Christmas Oratorio with the Greater Bridgeport Symphony Music for Youth at St Thomas Aquinas Church in Fairfield and the Golden Gate Choral Festival in San Francisco Jon Noyes retired in June 2021 as a public school music educator after a forty year career He served as an Adjunct Professor of Music at Fairfield University from 2002 2012 Mr Noyes received degrees from the Hartt School of Music at the University of Hartford He holds a fourthyear certificate from the Kodaly Musical Training Institute and is a Past President of the Southern New England Kodaly Educators The Connecticut Chapter of the American Choral Directors Association named Mr Noyes Choral Director of the Year for 1998 He has conducted all state regional and national festival choirs including the 2011 National Children s Choir for the Organization of American Kodaly Educators He has presented in service workshops throughout the United States and has published articles in local state and regional journals Music Director Founder Chamber Singers MOST ADVANCED Grades 6 12 50 55 members Mondays Wednesdays 7 00 8 30p m Concert Choir ADVANCED Grades 5 12 110 115 members Wednesdays 7 00 8 30 p m Chorale INTERMEDIATE Grades 5 12 100 105 members Wednesdays 6 00 7 30 p m Community service projects include singing for the Fairfield Holocaust Commemoration the Bridgeport Rescue Mission the Bridgeport Women s Shelter Operation Hope the Connecticut Children s Medical Center and many others Jacqueline Sugrue Tait Concert Choir Conductor Jacqueline Sugrue Tait is an elementary music teacher in the Westport Public Schools She received her Master of Music Education degree from Columbia University s Teachers College and holds a Bachelor s Degree in Music Education from The Hartt School She performs as a soprano with the Connecticut Choral Artists CONCORA and the Connecticut Chamber Choir Mrs Sugrue Taite is fully certified in both the Kod ly Methodology of music education and the Feierabend Approach She has presented and conducted at the state regional and national levels at CMEA KESNE OAKE and FAME conferences and serves on the Equity Committee of the Organization of American Kod ly Educators Her love for choral singing began when she first became a member of FCCC in fourth grade and has taken her around the country and globe to perform Lisa Bettke Chorale Conductor and Accompanist Lisa Bettke is a music specialist at McKinley School in Fairfield She received degrees from Gettysburg College and the University of Bridgeport Ms Bettke completed her Orff Teacher Training at Central CT State and the University of Memphis She has served as President of the CT Chapter of the American Orff Schulwerk Association and on the National Board of Trustees as a Regional Representative As an accompanist she has worked with Doreen Rao Henry Leck Mary Goetze Joan Gregoryk Jean Ashworth Bartle and Rollo Dilworth Ashley Zadravecz Chorus Conductor Chorus BEGINNER Grades 4 6 80 85 members Wednesdays 6 00 7 30 p m Ashley Zadravecz is an elementary music educator at North Stratfield School in the Fairfield Public Schools She holds a Master of Music Education from The University of Hartford s The Hartt School of Music with a concentration in Choral Conducting Additionally she holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education from Western Connecticut State University and is certified in the Kod ly Method of Music Education Having started choral singing at a very early age Ms Zadravecz continues her love of singing at St Peter church in Danbury CT where she is Soprano Section Leader and Cantor and is a soprano in the Chamber Choir Voce She has performed with choirs around the world including England Ireland Italy New Orleans Pennsylvania and Canada and has performed at various celebrated venues including Carnegie Hall
