COVID 19 UPDATE This week we saw Texas open up and lift restrictions However their governor urged each citizen to take personal responsibility I believe our governor will follow suit later this month with the same type of executive order Just a reminder our leadership is moving forward with our regular schedule of associational events for our three counties beginning on April 1st The numbers continue to improve and individuals are getting vaccinated By the summer everyone who chooses to receive the COVID 19 vaccine should have the opportunity So let s get ready for VBS and Summer Camps NEWS FROM THE CHURCHES Garvin FBC has called Bro Trevor Parrington as pastor But I believe most hopefully all of us can agree on one vital indicator of health People in our churches should be telling others about Jesus and inviting them to worship services And ironically successful churches in this area will often be viewed as unhealthy Our in person VBS clinic is scheduled on Saturday April 24th at FBC Antlers from 9AM to 12 30 PM This clinic is led by Jennifer Clark and our Associational VBS assist team and it is one of the best if not THE BEST VBS training in our state Make plans now on sending your team and learning more on how to reach our children for Jesus Christ MEN Brotherhood will be meeting at One Creek Valley on April 15 at 7pm A meal will be served and Pastor Andy Johnson will be sharing a message to challenge our hearts See you there Why do some healthy churches look unhealthy from the outside The healthiest churches are inevitably messy March 2021 Dr Mark A Boyd 6 April 2021 KIAMICHI BAPTIST ASSEMBLY FRISCO BAPTIST CABIN UPDATE New plumbing lines are being installed The electrician has started his work We will have all new LED lighting not only in the bathrooms but also in the dorm areas as well HVAC will be installing UV Germicidal UVC light system in the ductwork to reduce the risks of airborne infections Privacy stalls have been ordered and are on their way The work continues to prepare for camp We will also have two refrigerated water fill stations located under our pavilion by the eating area July 5 9 Youth Week 2 Dr Blake Gideon Senior Pastor FBC attempted to define one The emphasis on church health often falls on numerical growth but weekly attendance averages are inadequate metrics of health on their own especially in the current pandemic environment In getting ready for camp we will be heading up to KBA on Saturday May 1st to get everything cleaned and prepared for our summer schedule One of the items that is being installed in our cabin is a UV Germicidal system in the air ductwork to kill airborne infections Even with COVID 19 in our rear view mirror it is a nice addition to help clean the air that our campers will breathe It will not only help sanitize but it will also freshen the air and we all know how smelly a dorm room can be It s time to get connected Download our Frisco Baptist Association APP from the Apple Store O the end of March We are hopeful to Box 888 Hugo OK 74743resume our normal schedule beginning in April 580 326 9625 A healthy church will have many new believers which means an ongoing struggle to disciple them This discipleship however cannot happen in a vacuum and it certainly doesn t happen instantaneously A healthy church with a passionate outward focus can expect as much as 50 of the congregation to be loosely connected at any given point Why It means spiritually mature people are inviting their friends Of course the goal is for people to move from loosely connected to faithful But once the loosely connected become faithful the healthy culture of the church should compel them to invite their unchurched friends If you re a church leader and you re constantly dealing with how to disciple messy new believers then it probably means you re doing something right Conversely if everyone in your church is spiritually mature then something is terribly wrong In fact a church full of mature believers is quite immature because it means no one is reaching outward Healthy churches are messy It s easy to look in from the outside and claim Half that church is immature But such disdain could be misguided While a state of perpetual immaturity is a recipe for disaster a constant movement of many immature people being discipled is exactly what Jesus commanded us to do
