NEWS FROM OUR CHURCHES Thank you to all that have donated to the Father s Day Offering for KBA Frisco Baptist Association churches have given so far to date 15 364 99 From our five associations KBA has received a total of 57 289 82 You can still give at https www facebook com kbacamplife Dr Mark A Boyd Just a few week ago I traveled to Tulsa and went to the Bank of America on 71st and Hwy 169 I noticed for the very time a sign that was prominently posted outside that stated Property under video surveillance Anyone who defaces or destroys this property will be prosecuted under the fullest extent of Federal law I had read about the possibility of violence rioting and looting that was being scheduled to take place in the Tulsa area As I walked to the front entrance of the bank I was kindly greeted by a security officer who opened the door for me and offered me a mask to wear I declined and said I would use my own mask So with my sunglasses ball cap and my blue bandana on I proceeded into the bank to take care of my business Something about that just did not feel normal There I was with my identity hidden walking into a bank just like I had seen in the movies And then all of sudden I had a deja vu moment No it was not in regard to walking inside a bank wearing a mask at an earlier time But it was the feeling of doing something not normal in my routine and where I stood out in the crowd who were not wearing masks and eyewear The receptionist visited with me like everything was normal When had I felt like this before I was certain there was a similar time earlier in my life when that same feeling had come over me I began searching through my experiences and then it finally dawned on me when I had this feeling of awkwardness something out of routine something that was not deemed socially acceptable by all It was early on in my Christian life and it was in regard to me sharing my faith because it had not become my new normal yet And for a lot of us Christians in America sharing our faith in Jesus Christ with others has not yet become our new normal and so consequently it feels awkward and we don t do it A Barna study reveals only half 52 of born again Christians say they actually did share the Gospel message at least once this past year to someone with different beliefs in the hope that they might accept Jesus Christ as their Savior Why is that Some two thousand years ago Jesus invited 12 unsuspecting Galileans to Come follow Me For the next three years He discipled them by shaping their lives after His Jesus last command to those disciples was make disciples of all nations Today many call themselves Christians but few live as disciples In Luke 6 40 Jesus says A disciple is not above his teacher but everyone who is perfectly trained will be like his teacher Charles Spurgeon said Every Christian is either a missionary or an imposter Which one are you Darwin Will host 5th Sunday singing on August 30 beginning at 6 PM A meal
