FWC 20236 7FWC 2023FWC 20236 7FWC 2023I am so thrilled to take the reins as Executive Director for Columbus Fashion Council, leading a new era for our organization. Our flagship program, Fashion Week Columbus, is back for our 14th annual event, and it is posed to make history. One of the most noteworthy developments this year was the decision to present the first fur-free runway in America. This partnership with the Humane Society, underscores a growing trend in the fashion world towards cruelty-free and sustainable practices. By opting for a fur-free runway, Fashion Week Columbus is setting a new standard for ethical fashion, showcasing how style and compassion can go hand in hand. The Columbus Fashion Council has always been about more than just glamour; it’s about fostering talent and nurturing the fashion professionals of tomorrow. As leadership has changed and continues to grow, you can expect to see a fresh perspective, innovative ideas, and a renewed commitment towards pushing the boundaries of the fashion industry. The upcoming year will introduce an array of new programming and workshops designed to provide aspiring designers, models, photographers, make-up artists and other industry enthusiasts with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed. We are excited to expand our relationship with Common Thread Shops on Third, which has emerged as a pivotal hub for designers and students seeking opportunities to thrive. This fashion district serves a meeting ground for creativity, entrepreneurship, and education. Its unique blend of small business incubation and student involvement has created an atmosphere ripe for innovation and collaboration. The local initiative is invaluable, as it not only bolsters the economy, but also nurtures the environment where creatives can gain hands-on experience and learn from real-world entrepreneurs. This networking opportunity extends far beyond the local level, as it sets the stage for broader collaboration and growth. Together with can make a lasting impact on our community and create a legacy of innovation, and success. The journey ahead is exciting, and the possibilities are limitless. Columbus, Ohio, has quietly emerged as a vibrant hub for creatives within the fashion industry. Local designers are making waves, and the time has come for the nation to take notice. I encourage you to find your place with our organization that is shaping the fashion world for the better. Keira Chatman Executive DirectorFrom the EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

41FWC 2023As a lover of fashion, I am proud to support the Columbus Fashion Council and Fashion Week Columbus as they continue to embrace both the art and the business of fashion.Central Ohio is the third largest home of fashion designers, after New York City and Los Angeles. We have a number of hidden gems, and our fashion industry is one of them. Fashion is a form of self-expression, and we should support designers in their creative work and also as small business owners. Fashion week is a way to highlight our community members in our own way and stress the importance of sustainability and the environmental impacts of fashion production.Erica CrawleyFWC 2023402023 COMMITTEE MEMBERSPhotography TeamTony Bentivegna (Photography Lead)Abby ReillyBrian HockensmithCaleb HoffmannCharles NnamdiDave TothDysheen DavisEric GatchalianJ ScruggsMikaela HelaneNoor FaourStyle TeamJennifer Moore (Style Director)Moriah ShortsNash Cabrera LedesmaBlake CalvelageElyssa JonesModel Management TeamBeverly Robinson (Model Coordinator)Lesha PhillipsAndrea SciplinMartina JohnsonPamela Stone Tionna BarksdaleKemora LewisRoselyn PhippsHanna MazanecKeyshawn AlexanderSharne HairstonMarketing TeamAditi B (Marketing Coordinator)Susan Kim (marketing coordinator)Jaida L.
